Donald Trump isn't backing a national abortion ban. That's not hurting him in the GOP primary

“””As repulsive and abhorrent abortion is, it is a matter that should be left to the states, just like other crimes (murder, etc.).”””
Do you think that some states would be left alone to legalize murder and allow hitman clinics and paid leave to conduct those murders, especially of a 100% innocent class?
Would the VA and military base hitmen assist it in states where murder is still against the state law?

My personal view is: no abortion.
If you want to murder your baby - it’s you who must face judgement before an angry God.
My issue is - use your own money for murder, not taxpayers’ money.

Trump [has] refused to endorse a federal ban on abortion, allowing some top rivals to get to the right of him …
Being against states rights is not “to the right of” Trump on this issue.
You’re right, it’s to the left of Trump!

It’s a State issue, period. End of discussion.
Bingo. Anything to the contrary is unconstitutional.

You can describe abortion how you want, but we are a union of 50 separate states and the Federal Government has no purview in deciding matters that are rightly left to the states.
That you want to bring in the Fed’s desire for abortion still doesn’t change that fact. And, because there may be VA and/or military support for abortions within the confines of their property, they are doing so against the USSC ruling overturning Roe v Wade, IMO.

Good point.
To: Gaffer
You can describe abortion as you want.
If it is merely a woman’s choice about her personal reproductive rights, her own body, then let the voters of each state decide their own preference, although why would anyone vote against something that harmless?
If it is killing a baby, then no state can simply vote themselves the right to murder the innocent.

Let's take your proposition as fact - abortion is killing babies. In that case- 600,000+ women in past year were complicit in murder. Also, any abortion provider is guilty of mass murder.
Now that we've established that a vast number of people in this country have committed first degree murder and genocide, what's the next step? Do we simply move on?
Additionally, the US in the past has stopped holocausts because that is what you do when you are a world leader. Abortion in the US is only a small part of the total. Should we mobilize and deploy worldwide to prevent the slaughter of millions?

It seems that among the changes at FR, it is becoming a place of strong voices for abortion.

I agree. Now, before we can move forward on any issue, the administrative state dictatorship has to be destroyed.

It's not just FR- fewer folks each year see it the way you do.
President Trump knows this. See if you detect a pattern in Dubya, Reagan, Trump - guys that got elected to national office and had some nuance with abortion, not YOU'RE ALL BABY KILLERs!
Those other guys (Alan Keyes/DeSantis/etc)with the pinched voices that wave their finger in the air don't. Simple as that. They don't get anything done but man is that moral superiority thing sweet.
To: Observator
This isn’t an argument between someone wanting to run on campaigns of calling people “baby killers” versus someone who doesn’t.
Your argument is simply a pro-abortion argument that it is a choice, and you are making it in a private discussion at a conservative members-only pro-life political discussion site.

Not at all. You can't quote me saying that because I never have, and never would. That's simply the classic strawman.
Rather, I asked you to clarify your innuendo that millions of your countrymen are murderers. In a cowardly move, you ignored my question and made up some Bold Stuff.

“the reversal by SCOTUS of that decision [Roe v. Wade] begs to disagree [that it’s a state issue].”
How so? Isn’t that exactly what the reversal stated?

Quit playing pro-abortion games.
You got upset because someone was pointing out that the pro-choice state’s rights posters here were denying what an abortion is and expressing their belief it is simply a woman’s choice therefore each state decides its own preferences.
