The Mesolithic people of Europe were dark with a high percentage of blue eyes. They are an extinct population. The current population of Europe came from western Asia about 5K ya.
It is a new finding and somewhat surprising (to me)

BTW- Skin color has almost nothing to do with genetic affinities to sub-Saharan Africans despite the American view of this subject.

Yeah, well, that sure fits in with some of today's agendas...this was one (1) specimen. Maybe he drifted there on a raft from parts south...who knows?

I don't accept this as conclusive proof. Do they have actual skin samples to examine for pigmentation? No? Conjecture.

Mind you, not that I care whether he was white, black, blue or green. It's just the dovetailing with the aforementioned agendas.
