When arrests for shopliting are not made, and assults cause no bail before same day release and just a DAT (Desk Appearence Ticket - date to go to court), and all other crimes are up, of course vandals are not worried about getting caught for breaking a bunch of subway car windows.

They need to make this into an anti public transit hate crime. Public transit is a sacred cow of the left. If they can do that the perps if caught will get life.

They may have been making a symbolic statement like the ones who burn American flags protected as “free speech.” With their mouths closed.

It makes no sense, destruction just for the sake of destruction. Takes a certain type of person. But you’re right, there are virtually no penalties for similar crimes. This one just impacted a lot of people all at once. They should have published a manifesto to explain their rationale.
