CNN — The federal budget deficit is expected to balloon to about $2 trillion for fiscal year 2023, roughly double what it was in the previous fiscal year, according to a government watchdog group.
The surge stems largely from a sharp decline in tax revenues, coupled with an increase in mandatory spending on Social Security, Medicare and interest payments, as well as in other areas. It follows a sharp drop in the budget shortfall in fiscal year 2022 after two years of giant deficits swollen by record government spending on Covid-19 pandemic relief measures.

It’s a modified limited hangout.
Probably to discourage anyone from getting any ideas about doing what Trump does.
If Deep State can’t keep Trump out of the WH, it may very well figure the next best thing is to leave him a wrecked, smoking hulk of a ship of state to deal with.
If so Deep State will count on three things to get what it wants should Trump become prez.
1) Deep State will still control SCOTUS and Congress.
2) It will still control state and local bureaucracies and institutions.
3) It will count on Americans to be unwilling to do what Trump will inevitably have to ask us to do to right our ship of state.
I hope to God we can disappoint Deep State on that last one.
A fine forecast of what the “administrative state” is doing, feathering its own collective nest(s) through corruption at many levels.

They would only have to fend him off for four years, a relatively short time in DC. And the Deep State can always count on GOP obstruction to do it. Trump may return but it will be to even more political hostility.
Those in power do what’s best for them, not us.
The DC-deep-state-empire doesn’t have long before TSHTF
And this is when they are claiming the economy is still growing.
Imagine when the next financial/debt crisis occurs. What will the deficit be then? Will all that debt get monetized?
We’ve already crossed the political rubicon, so add in 100% inflation and a financial collapse, and that’s when we become some version of Brazil 1964, Argentina 1976, Russia 1917
From tribes to feudal lords to all the interim politcal systems through to today, this is TOTALLY correct.
Other areas like Ukraine and the Green New Deal otherwise known as the Inflation Reduction Act. The RINOs deserve some of the blame for helping the Dems pass these spending bills.
The corollary to that is...those in power only tell us what they want us to know.
Agreed, again.
Cloward-Piven in action...

Absolutely True !
Every supposed “Democracy” and “Republic” is fake and disguised oligarchy.
The best we are going to do is have the incentives of the elites more or less aligned with the interests of the people they rule.
Right now, we are in the worst possible situaton because the Globohomo elites despise the Heritage populations of their own countries, and want to destroy them.
Yes, that’s sort of the whole point of power, isn’t it?
America is bankrupt. Thanks GOP and DemonicRats.
Why the sharp decline in tax revenues? Biden keeps saying more people are employed.

Totally agree with your POV.

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy celebrated the passage of a debt ceiling deal in the House of Representatives on Wednesday night and promised that Democratic Party support meant he could push for more Republican budget priorities.
The deal was necessary for the U.S. to avoid defaulting on its existing debt and likely further rocking the economy. It was passed without the support of some conservatives who opposed the bill for its compromises, but got the necessary vote of 52 Democrats to pass. McCarthy said the votes by Democrats proved they would support further Republican priorities including the defunding of new IRS agents, work requirements for those receiving government support and spending cuts.
“This is great. I think it’s wonderful that they voted for it. Because they are now on record. So they can’t sit there and yell ‘this isn’t good.’
So I’ll bring something back tomorrow. Let’s get the rest of the IRS agents. Let’s get the rest of the work requirements. Let’s cut more,” McCarthy said. “This is fabulous, this is one of the best nights I’ve ever been here. I thought it would be hard.” The bill now heads to the Senate, with passage expected by the end of the week.
