GOP rep says House shouldn’t ‘repeat mistakes’ of Trump impeachment with Biden
The Hill ^ | 09/10/2023 | MIRANDA NAZZARO

Rep. French Hill (R-Ark.) said Sunday the House should not “repeat the mistakes” of former Speaker Pelosi’s impeachment inquiry into former President Trump when weighing the same for President Biden.

“We don’t want to repeat the mistakes we think that Nancy Pelosi made by prematurely moving to impeachment during the Trump administration,” Hill said in an interview on CBS’s “Face the Nation.”

Looks like what Hitler had to do to the country to get it reorganized.

In dems mind there was no mistake. Brandon is in the Whitehouse, and Dems have the Senate. So in reality they didn’t like sex much.

Pelosi's "impeachment" if you can dignify that sordid little bit of political theater with the term, did exactly what it was intended to do. She knew she didn't have the votes to remover from office but went ahead anyway, so that the media mockingbirds could chorus "twice-impeached Trump" for the rest of his term (and are still at it). Declining to reciprocate because "We're better than that" is giving the slime all the free punches they care to take.

Make no mistake, the Dems are looking at taking the House in '24 with a re-elected Pelosi as Speaker. Rolling over for them now will only make it easier for them.

Exactly. If you’re in a boxing match, and your opponent starts kicking you repeatedly in the balls, you don’t go on about what is fair and dignified. You fight just as dirty until he decides to start following the rules again.

Once again, I'm forced to repost that the GOP never retaliates.

The trap for Republicans is that Democrats know they can be abusive first and get away with it, because Republicans will reject "whataboutism," and insist on taking the high road in contrast, essentially giving the Democrats a free "kick me" every time.

Nothing will change unless Democrats feel the blowback. Democrats get away with free kick-me against Republicans; they get to do the crime to advance their agenda and the Republicans are forced by their "leadership" to stay on the high road.

NcCarthy is slow-walking an impeachment inquiry, McConnell doesn't want the House Republicans to block Ukraine funding, Graham never followed through on his promises as committee chairman, Trey Gowdy never did either.

There is no reason to believe that a future GOP will behave any differently than the prior GOP did.

We don’t have to fight dirty. There is no need to suborn perjury or fabricate evidence. Impeachment articles would include one or both of the crimes enumerated in the Constitution. A criminal indictment could easily be written by a second year law student.

French Hill is a dim bulb. It’s not about succeeding with impeachment. It’s about damaging Biden and by extension damaging the Democrats beyond Biden. With an impeachment the MSM will be forced to focus on Biden’s corruption and the Democrats’ willingness to ignore and excuse it.

After Trump became POTUS, he knew that there were too many dems, and dem sympathizers including RINOs, in the DOJ etc. to prosecute the scoundrels. (BTW, to replace a disloyal DOJ character, a new one has to be confirmed in the senate, and why would the senate want to do that?) TDS nuts here on FR criticize Trump all the time for not “cleaning the swamp.”

The difference is that the GOP really has the goods on Biden who has clearly committed impeachable offenses. Republicans like Hill don’t have the courage to fight Democrats with a matching ferocity.

You know that the senate will not remove Biden from office. The only potential advantage would be political. Are honest reporters/writers outnumbered 10 to 1? 100 to one?

Formal Impeachment should have began 2 hours after he was sworn in

McCarthy for lack of action on this. Blame the squishes

The squishes are just doing Kevin's will, or he is not really the speaker, just pretending.

He’s always been squishy. Talks tough, then caves like a pack of cards and throws the rest of us under the bus: a stalking horse like Assa and the other RINOs.

Perhaps Hill has the French disease.
