The Biden border crisis is moving north. Illegal aliens are traveling to Canada and attempting to cross into northern border states like New Hampshire, Vermont, and New York. The number of apprehensions in the Swanton sector over the last 11 months has surpassed the last 10 years combined.
On Wednesday, Chief Agent Robert Garcia of the Swanton sector of U.S. Customs & Border Protection reported that more than 6,000 apprehensions were reported over the last 11 months, a record number of arrests at northern border crossings. This is not the kind of attention this sector of CBP wants. Illegals are coming from around the world to illegally cross into the United States. Garcia stated that they came from 76 countries.

The Swanton sector spans nearly 300 miles across northern New York, Vermont, and New Hampshire. Garcia said, “Swanton Sector Agents are resolute and determined to hold the line.”
The New Hampshire Republican Party has a question for Mayor Joyce Craig of Manchester. Does she still support sanctuary city policies in New Hampshire? Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey, a Democrat, called up the National Guard to handle the illegal aliens creating an emergency situation in that state. Does that give Mayor Craig, a Democrat, pause? The New Hampshire Republican Party plans to raise that question at a press conference Friday. Craig is currently a candidate for New Hampshire governor in 2024.
Mayor Craig has touted the endorsement of Governor Healey, a progressive Democrat, who also supports sanctuary policies. She opposes using state and local police to help enforce immigration law. Now Healey has declared a state of emergency in Massachusetts.
It’s all fun and games with supporting sanctuary city and state policies until the illegal aliens show up and need services.
America’s border crisis has been making headlines in New Hampshire for weeks, from reports that encounters with illegals at the northern border have surged to the arrest of a mass murderer from Brazil captured while living illegally in Rye.
Also this week, the U.S. Attorney’s Office charged a Mexico national with smuggling illegal immigrants across the northern border and into New Hampshire.
According to a statement from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, District of New Hampshire, “Reynaldo Velasco-Velasco, 36, was charged by criminal complaint with illegal reentry of a removed alien … and unlawful transportation of certain aliens.
“A group of individuals wearing backpacks was observed crossing the international border from Canada near Canaan, Vt.,” officials reported. “All four [individuals] had backpacks with them, and their pants appeared wet and dirty from their shins down. The driver was subsequently identified via biometric databases as Velasco-Velasco, a Mexican citizen who was previously removed from the United States in 2011.”
Governor Sununu sent a letter to New Hampshire’s all-Democrat Congressional delegation which asked for help getting the Biden administration to restore millions of dollars in border security funding that was provided to New Hampshire in the past. All of the delegation took a pass on answering questions about the cut in border security funding. That’s not exactly a profile in courage, is it? Reality bites.
Granite State Democrats do what other Democrats do – they accuse Republicans who want the borders secured as racists. They have called illegal immigration a “fake issue” promoted by Republicans. They also opposed Governor Sununu spending $1.4M to help secure the northern border.
Any Republican campaign that does not make border security and illegal immigration a campaign issue is guilty of malpractice in 2024. Republican Kelly Ayotte gets it. She is running for governor.
“It is clear that we have a serious problem unfolding along our northern border – and the Biden administration is sitting on their hands while dangerous criminals and drugs flow into our state,” said GOP candidate for governor Kelly Ayotte. “Once again, I stand with Gov. Sununu in his calls for further funding for border security, but unfortunately, the Biden administration has shown no interest in securing our borders.”
The Biden border crisis is a huge weak spot for Joe Biden’s re-election campaign. Though immigration does not usually rise to a top issue in campaigns, this cycle is different. Biden has so botched our national security and humanitarian issues along the southern border that it can’t be ignored. DHS has turned every state into a border state as it distributes illegal aliens across the country. Border states have been left on their own by the Biden administration. When the governors, like Governor Abbott in Texas, act to secure state borders, Biden and his DOJ work to stop them. The border crisis is intentional. It is Biden’s policy. Now it has spread to the northern border. It will only get worse.

What, exactly, is going to happen to these urchins come winter? How does a city like Concord accommodate 8,000 uninvited, unskilled, illiterate, grifters and their families when overnight temperatures crash into the low teens or worse.

The cartels are flying them from Mexico to Canada. Then they move south into the US. Why Canada is not stopping this makes no sense, but it is what it is.
