I agree. Everyone should be educated about climate and weather for that matter. It actually should begin with a little astronomy and useful facts about our solar system, emphasis on solar. You know, El Sol, dat big orange ball in the sky. Then everyone should learn about the scientific method, models and the difference between the two. It is useful to understand chemistry, particularly organic chem - at least to the point of knowing there’s no difference between “natural” CO2 molecules and “human” CO2 molecules. People should know the size of things - like dat big orange ball in the sky compared to the widdle blue ball where we make our crib. People should understand the difficulty of measuring things - like temperatures and proxies for temperature readings in the past. People should have a fundamental understanding of statistics, particularly trying to make sense out of apples and oranges. There’s plenty more to learn and know.

IMHO when you get into details of what causes these cycles (and other longer term cycles), people's eyes glaze over.
