So you’re cheerfully capitulating to someone infringing your 4th Amendment right to be secure in your “persons, houses, papers and effects?” If you’re in Rio Linda, effects is your property. You own the goods you’re removing legally from the store. Forcing you to prove it is another step sliding down the slippery slope to tyranny.
In our legal system, we are innocent until PROVEN guilty. It’s the stores job to prove your guilt, not your job to prove your innocence.
Sam's Club checks receipts in my region of Alabama. I think most all very large area stores that don't bag the products check receipts near the store exits. And the Walmart self-checkout areas have several employees observing customers pretty closely, and someone at the exits, also.

I see your point. But please note that the 4A only protects you against the government. It does not protect you against private companies.
This is true with the 1A’s free speech protection as well. The government cannot stop me from saying “Biden is terrible” while I’m standing on a public sidewalk. I have free speech. But Ford sure can stop me from saying “Ford cars are terrible” when I’m standing on a Ford dealership’s property.
That’s where property rights kick in.
See my companion argument in post 81.
I refuse to play their games. I cheerfully walk by them.

By that I’m guessing you mean:
“In our legal system, we are innocent until PROVEN guilty.”
Again, we’re talking about private property here, not the government. Our legal system is a government thing.
But I will say this. Walmart’s policy does have the effect of assuming guilt. That is, I believe, their right. But it’s not a healthy business model. It probably aggravates more good people than deters bad people.
Oh, and one more thing. You and I obviously have a very different opinion here. Yet our conversation has been cordial. I appreciate that, as I often gain new perspectives when conversations go that way.

You are spot-on but forgot the most important one of all -- hitting an ex-president, his lawyers, and his allies with totally bogus and fabricated charges simultaneously in multiple jurisdictions. The goal is obviously to prevent him from running again. Or they are hoping the stress will kill him. The overarching goals is to send a message to everybody that "DON'T YOU DARE OPPOSE THE DEEP STATE." and to make sure that nobody will ever again run on MAGA. It's all to protect the filthy, corrupt lucre the deep state socks way to the tune of trillions of dollars.
I always love a good argument, even when you’re wrong :)
I think they are too. Sometimes when we changed over to run off-label, they changed a lot over. I think it depends on the off-label and who is selling them. Since I’m retired, I don’t keep up with it.
Grazing is when a employee opens a product and eats some of it without paying. They normally fire for this. If help is tight, they over look it if the vendor covers the theft. All the store needs is a empty box.
My son in law lives there and is a well connected party member. All he does is scream they should be a state with two senators.

I was once told* that Black consumers were highly attracted to “brand” advertising.

Enough people here did that, a 20 mile round trip to the nearest Home Depot, that the local True Value went out of business.
Good riddance.
I'm stealing that.
Totally and completely tongue in cheek of course
Of course! (PS, you're wrong)
We know u will.
Nope!
Just tell the receipt checker that you accidentally pressed the “no receipt” button on the self checkout.
