What’s with this desanctimonious talk?
Please address him as Ron DeSantis.
Free Republic is a serious discussion site , not a site for snark and insults or ad hominem attacks.
To: Brian Griffin
And how? Depopulate the state? DeSantis is already pulled the welcome mat on illegals, what would be the next step?

"And why is desanctomonious losing so badly? He can't even carry his home state."
Maybe because most of us want him as our governor (as there isn't yet a likely replacement). Trump needs another term to further what he has accomplished. Ron can wait for 2028.
The question is: will YOU vote for Ron in 2028?

DeSantis says what he means and does what he says.
You mean like how he is against supporting Ukraine one day, and for it the next? Or whether he'll vote for Trump or not? It all depends on what he is told to do by his handlers. Ya, he's a man of conviction all right. LOL

Ya, that's BS. I live in Florida too, no way he will ever be elected to anything ever again. It's clear who he is now, and it's not who we thought he was.

“by comparison with the record at Pensacola, Florida, which is the nearest tide gauge that is located in a relatively stable geologic setting. Here, the overall trend is a relatively uniform rate of RSLR of about 2.1 mm/yr since 1924. There are no pronounced periods of RSLR acceleration and deceleration at Pensacola, indicating that the Grand Isle RSLR temporal variability is specific to the southern Mississippi River delta plain.”

Over the 100 years one might expect a Florida house to last, 2.4mm/year would give a rise of 240mm, or about a foot. My Democratic neighbors’ house is built on about three feet of fill dirt.

That is a low bar. I go with:
DeSantis is more of a true leader than ANYONE in the sordid, fetid and truly stupid Democrat party or Republican party.

I didn’t think it necessary to dispute your obvious baloney. Plus I try make sure I don’t get into discussions with fanatics it’s like trying to teach a pig to sing. Wastes my time and the pig never learns to sing

This is why I liked DeSantis in the first place. I wish that when the GOPe came to see him he had them escorted out of the building. Instead he listened and let them influence him. The result has been a slow motion train wreck. Culminating in him sounding like Pelosi on the 20 steal.

I beg to differ...Ron is as good as it gets. Problem is his timing is bad...it’s still the Trump era and he is a force of nature.7

I’m a man of conviction. I’m not likely to get elected to office even if I had enough financial resources available.
Congress writes the laws. The President should faithfully execute them.
The President has the ability to nominate people to run federal courts and federal agencies.
Is there any indication that Trump would do a superior nominating job than DeSantis?

Glad Ron called out climate change fraud. Wish more would call out climate fraud instead of being silent.

There are only two issues that matter right now, election integrity and political persecution. Without these two, nothing else matters anyway. desanctomonilus has already sold out on these. Trump stands alone and strong on these,

Really? Where does he stand on election integrity? Oh, that's right. The 2020 election was completely legitimate according to ron. And what about political persecution? Oh, that's right. As long as he benefits from it it's okay. As in if it gets rid of Trump, desanctomonious thinks that benefits himself. He's wrong of course, he couldn't get elected dog catcher now. If that's what you call a good man, you might be a democrat.

"We know from history there’s been times when it’s very busy in Florida, late ‘40s, early ‘50s, you had a lot of hits of significant hurricanes." "So, I think sometimes people need to take a breath and get a little bit of perspective here,"DeSantisis is right - much worse and more frequent hurricanes in the 50's.
That said, back then the press wasn't filled with air-head bimbos of wealthy fathers and pretentious dolts from 'the best of journalism schools'. So now we get the hysteria of idiots who never faced anything rougher than 'daddy' not buying them the $4,000 purse for the prom dress or the new sports car when they got their first driver's license.
