Ron DeSantis did what he does best during Hurricane Idalia: Govern

“It is an ill wind that blows no man to good,” as the proverb says. In the case of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, one might add a much-abused adverb: literally.

Hurricane Idalia made landfall in Florida this week, bad news for everybody living in Florida except for one man: Ron DeSantis, who in the past has shown that this sort of everyday executive work — governor stuff — is something that he is pretty good at.

Taking time off from his recent political shtick, DeSantis was on the phone with President Biden while members of his administration were negotiating with their federal counterparts to get FEMA to pick up a larger share of the recovery costs than the usual 75 percent.

Some 40,000 utility workers were mobilized to get the lights back on where powerlines were down.

Florida’s post-hurricane work has been methodical and effective. (Oh, and the Governor’s Mansion was almost destroyed by a falling oak tree.)

The polls were wrong in 2007, 2016, 2018, 2020, 2022 and they’re still wrong today.

Liberal pollsters are over-inflating Trump’s numbers because they want him to be the GOP nominee, knowing he can’t win the general election.

The polls are and always have been nothing but propaganda to try and sway the electorate.

DeSantis has proven that he is perfectly fine with a political system where the leaders are chosen for the people not by the people, especially when such a corrupt system benefits him. I don’t even consider him to be an American.

He's masterfully handled the last two hurricanes, given Biden the cold-shoulder

Eh, he's done fine but I wouldn't call his standard press conferences and emergency declarations civic masterpieces that should be hanging in Maralogo.

He's requested federal aid and received it. Not sure why after getting his handouts engaging in some political Kabuki is praiseworthy though.

I believe this as well. I don't know anyone who is supporting him.

The polls that show Trump surging among independents, Gen-Z, blacks, and women yet only beating Biden by a point or 2 don't make any sense mathematically.

I only pray that Iowa primary voters do the right thing and squash this impending catastrophe.

Speaking of numbers: Trump promised Digital World he would have 41 million Truth Social members. There are just barely 500K Truth Social members.

Digital World, a publicly traded company, is facing a vote Sept. 5 to either extend the deadline by a year or face liquidation Sept. 8, 2023.

What is the stupid BS that you and everybody keeps pulling about 2028? There is no coronation of Trump in 2024, it’s an open election for anybody that wants to run, and DeSantis is decided to run, and he truly is the best choice. Get over it!

Sure it does. There are plenty of white “conservatives” who long for the pre-2016 Ancien Regime who are voting for Biden to keep it going.

Really? You think trolling Biden while a hurricane is hitting your state is a good plan?

If that's the case let me recommend you view as much Rama content as possible. You will enjoy his Ritalin muppetry immensely.

Trump is a sad little man who will never set foot in the White House again.

No Republican will set foot in the WH ever again if voter fraud is going to be tolerated.

You honestly think the Dems and their henchmen will allow DeSantis to win? They will do the same thing to Ron that they're doing to Trump right now.

DeSantis is the greatest governor in this country

Who promptly broke a promise to finish out his 2nd term and signed an anti-1st Amendment bill on foreign soil.

Of course, they'll just cry, "STOLEN ELECTION!!!

The election was stolen, bub. And unlike Trump who's fighting back, DeSantis will gracefully concede. For the "good of the nation," of course.

There are lots of suburban folks who are comfortable now. 401ks and home prices (equity $) are fine. They have no interest in feeling miserable all the time and aren’t going to be bullied into voting for Trump.

Funny, because Trump got over 1M more votes in Florida then desanctomonious.

DeathSantis fans keep pointing out this garbage, disregarding the fact that a dead alligator could have beaten Charlie Crist and that DeSantis nearly lost the primary in 2018 to an establishement Republican and still barely beat a black guy who later turned out to be a drug abuser and bisexual.

There is no coronation of Trump in 2024

Sorry buddy, Trump got royally screwed over in 2020 and was blocked throughout his first term. He needs to get his revenge and bring the entire political system down, or you'll never see another Republican or common man running for office ever again.

Digital World, a publicly traded company, is facing a vote Sept. 5 to either extend the deadline by a year or face liquidation Sept. 8, 2023.

And if the deadline isn't extended, they'll be required by law to pay back $300 million to investors.

A year to grow Truth Social by 80x its current size, which might've been doable had Musk not bought Twitter and fired all the people who were banning everyone.

What does Truth Social offer now other than Trump's increasingly unhinged "Truths"?

Why are there only 500K Truth Social members, when Trump promised 41 Million Truth Social members?

The Digital World financial backers are facing liquidation in less than a week. There are polls, and there is reality. Just saying.
