Child Trafficking is a problem in Ukraine. Unfortunately it was worse in Russia right until 2022, when the Russian invasion caused a displacement of over 1/3 of Ukrainian children. If you care about child trafficking in Ukraine , you should take it up with Russia, which has also kidnapped Ukrainian children and given them to Russian parents, which is a literal war crime.

2. I have no love for Ukraine or Zelinsky. I'm a generation removed from being a Galician Jew. My grandfather fought the Ukrainians in 1919 to keep Western Galicia Polish. Those members of my paternal family, who were able to escape the Drohobycz Ghetto and elude mostly Ukrainian militia became partisan fighting the Nazis and their collaborators. My father killed Nazi-allied Ukrainian nationalists, when he was 12. Like most surviving Galician Jews and Poles, my family was ethnically cleansed from Galicia at the end of World War 2 as this land was given to Ukraine. My family name comes from Lwow/Lviv/Lemberg, being a direct translation of the Latin to German. Do you know how enraging it was to see the Lion of Lwow appropriated to become a Ukrainian symbol and then used by the 14th Waffen? And then to see the 14th Waffen flag paraded not just in Drahobycz, but through the neighborhood where my father grew up?

I support Ukraine in this war for four reasons:
1. The US, UK, and Russia promised to respect and protect Ukraine's sovereignty in exchange for them giving up nukes. We debt of honor and failing to do so makes future nuclear deals much harder.
2. Russia has used cyber-attacks against the Baltics and is fomenting strife in Estonia. Their revanchist and irridentist crusade to restore the Soviet Russian empire is a threat to NATO.
3. Ruzzian invasion maps showed a further move into Moldova., which would bring Romania into the war. A Russian defeat prevents world war III.
4. Russian success or failure is a signal to Communist China. I want to deter China from invading Taiwan, rather than fighting World War III against them
