(Reuters) - A special legislative session in Tennessee called by the state's Republican governor in response to a deadly school shooting ended on Tuesday with no progress on gun safety laws, capped by a brief scuffle between opposing lawmakers.
Governor Bill Lee, in the special session which opened on Aug. 21, asked lawmakers to consider a "red flag" law and a number of other public safety measures he pitched in the wake of the murder of three children and three staff members at The Covenant School in March in Nashville.

Good for the Republicans.
Now the legislature should demand to see the manifesto.
They should have responded with legislation making it a Felony to offer or furnish any type of armed security for an elected official.
There’s a pro-2A social media influencer Lucas Botkin who’s been rallying opposition to more gun control measures, especially in Tennessee. I get his action alerts and sent off some emails. After the 2020 riots, I am firmly ZERO compromise when it comes to gun right and self defense rights.
Throw Memphis out of the state and the murder rate drops 70%.
Guy who started the “scuffle” is the same thug they threw out a year ago, but got himself re-elected. Wonder what district he’s from?
Too bad Michigan’s law makers are a barrel of invertebrates and communists.
I remember Sundquist, who tried to sneak a state income tax through the legislature.
Leftist Reuters includes a video from PMSNBC in case there wasn’t already enough leftist Commie slant to the reporting.
“That sentiment was not shared by Sarah Shoop Neuman, the parent of a Covenant student who lobbied lawmakers for new gun laws. After the session ended, she told reporters it was difficult for her to comprehend that children were murdered at school, yet lawmakers “took no meaningful action.””
I agree. They should have cracked down on the menace of trannies and homosexual recruiting in the schools. And they should have outlawed tranny transitioning.
“I remember Sundquist, who tried to sneak a state income tax through the legislature.”
Thousands of us busted our behind us and our bank accounts working for and supporting Sundquist. Then he betrayed us by going for a state income tax; we returned the favor by making him a total, utterly disgraced outcast at all Republican events. Lee has no idea the extent of fury he is creating against himself by this and by not doing everything in his power to get the Nashville lezzie shooter’s manifesto released.
Hey, Gov: CRIMINALS DO NOT OBEY GUN LAWS. MORE LAWS = LESS COMPLIANCE.
it was a very successful special session.
