"You write just like a Russian who speaks bad English. For those writing from foreign countries, insults are not permitted on FR."

That is a pretty pathetic attempt at gaslighting this forum Popdingus. According to you and your fellow Bidenistas, over half of this forum is RuZzian orc. You are probably dense enough to believe that Trump won in 2015 only because of collusion with the Russians, am I right or am I wrong? It is bad enough that you are a mouthpiece for the illegitimate, communist cabal that has usurped our government but it is even worse because you suck at. I think you need to reread your tattered copy of Rules for Radicals you sorry excuse for an American.

The wee rhetorical battle between you and Cronos is entertainment, in a way, the salvos fired in opposition each to the other of course not drawing blood and nor maiming.

I would point out that the distance from Rzeszow Podkarpackie, Poland, to Kyiv, Ukraine, is about 400 miles.

One reads from last year, "Pole killed fighting in Ukraine buried as hero of 2 nations" Associated Press

Source: https://apnews.com/article/europe-poland-warsaw-f4ecf2b1722f3ca04dbae74f370b34ea

One also reads of "American fighter in Ukraine describes the "pure evil" of Russia's war" CBS

Source: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/american-fighter-ukraine-war-pure-evil-russia-war/

So some Poles and Americans have fought in Ukraine. Cronos, if like many of us, being an "old guy," shouldn't, I think. Even though it's only about 400 miles for him, if he were to be so bold.

Your statement is unambiguous, in the rhetorical exchange. "I won't volunteer to fight for Russia because I don't give 2 cents about them."

Cronos won't be fighting for Ukraine. No one on these "war" threads seems to be volunteering -- though some want to "volunteer" others.

"Hey, man. Let's you and him fight." We'll send you money to do it!

$32,731,000,456,384 and rising rapidly

$253,686 per taxpayer

I can tell with certainty that the group that participated in the initial assault on Hostomel airport has suffered less than 10% casualties. And I am not talking about the original assault, I mean by this day.

Your comment about just about bored me to death. It is way too long and does not to make any point. With your comment “I would point out that the distance from Rzeszow Podkarpackie, Poland, to Kyiv, Ukraine, is about 400 miles.” I can only assume that you think that I and most Freepers have never looked at a globe. It’s one of the reasons I called Cronos out. I don’t need a condescending fool to tell me that the Russia Ukraine War is being fought next to Poland 5,000 miles away overseas.

Don't be so sensitive. The comment should have been to "all."

The last portion points out you being correct, if your thin skin had allowed it:

Cronos won't be fighting for Ukraine. No one on these "war" threads seems to be volunteering -- though some want to "volunteer" others.

"Hey, man. Let's you and him fight." We'll send you money to do it!

That's what the neocons and "forever war" folks are doing. And you are not. Capiche?

"Still curious what was your military service in the US?"

None. I just grew up in a rough boom town and a went to a school that was 40% Native American for 12 years. I was in fist fights at least 4 to 5 times a year for 12 years. Kinda miss it.

“...what are the alternatives for Ukraine and for Ukraine supporters respectively?”

Problem is that when the Soviet regime fell in 1991, and the Ukraine wanted independence, they dared the Soviets to do anything about it and Russia was so disorganized trying to go one direction they didn’t say or do anything. (Kind of like our republican party of today)

In 2014 Russia decided they wanted the Ukraine, along with a few other separated countries some of which they have already “annexed,” and since the Ukraine was prosperous, back. So the Ukraine said put up or...back in 1991, and it has come to blossom. Sometimes you don’t really want what you get.

For Ukraine - ...stay at the territory he has grabbed so far... I don’t believe he ever considered an end game to the retrieval of all that was lost in the early 90’s. He wants it all back and he finally got around to the Ukraine. There’s more holes to play on that course. Which is one of the reasons we never should have gotten into the mix. We will have to supply huge dollars and weapons stashes for possible a couple of generations.

For Ukraine supporters - ...but there is a possibility that the Russians overthrew Putin as they overthrew the Tsar in 1917

Wagner, the best they have, couldn’t. It’s going to take a he— of an uprising do get that done

The status quo is finally dawning on people that it is unacceptable as it breeds more death and aids China in their growth into a world rogue more than they already are. And that’s all it helps. It isn’t going to stop Russia, it is going to drain us of funds and resources, and it is costing the taxpayers their shirts to support a country that most people don’t know why our government is so concerned about. And they never will. Just causes less presents at Christmas. The US has sent over $60B in aid to the Ukraine and I don’t think there is a number on the weapons. But they didn’t come cheap. That would buy a lot of Nativity Scenes.

Good Question. If Russia uses a low yield bomb on Ukraine troop concentrations? would we attack with a first strike and end civilization on planet earth? What if Putin just destroys Kiev with a Hiroshima sized atomic bomb? What if Putin took out five Uke cities? Would that be worth killing Millions of Americans? Do you think they wouldn’t reply and hit us back? They have subs full of Nukes they could launch a second strike from. Does the Deep State want to be gone in a nuclear flash? I think not.

“Does the Deep State want to be gone in a nuclear flash? I think not.”

Then the best way I see is for the US to cut off the deep pockets and let nature take its course. The Ukraine gambled on this in 1991. They made their bed...

I’ve been on free republic 10 years longer than my latest handle, since 2007, and it’s been a word war every day. Sarcasm is also fine art in my hometown.

That’s funny because you were the one who said “with certainty “ I didn’t, and I don’t

But logic would say being in the fray and in some of the biggest battles the 76th would have more than 10% casualties

By definition your response is propaganda, propaganda does not necessarily mean it is wrong or misleading but you say you have “sources “is it at least possible that their information is at the very least incomplete if not false.

I was in the military for 40 years, my understanding of all facets of what was going on was limited to my direct observations, everything else relied on others and I have no way of confirming or disputing that

I would imagine the same is for your sources

Just my 2 cents

I bet that you don’t know anyone who was there, hence your judgement is based on propaganda you choose to believe nonetheless.
