It is not clear the Russians are more successful than others. Modern technology makes control of the information flow difficult.
Depending on the situation, control of the information flow to and in other countries may be of greater importance.
In Word War I and II, British control of the information flow to the United States took on great significance. In both cases, the dominant theme was to bring the United States into the war on the side of Great Britain.

Historically, the Russian people will accept a LOT of suffering .... if they think that there is a real threat to Mother Russia. This is why of am of the opinion that Ukraine should refrain from responding using attacks that kill Russian civilians.
