Douglas Macgregor, a retired colonel of the United States Army and a political analyst, told Tucker Carlson in an interview on his program on the social media network X, formerly known as Twitter, that Ukraine has already lost 400,000 soldiers in its war with Russia. His revelation comes as the New York Times reported that Ukraine’s counteroffensive is struggling because some of Kiev’s best troops are “in the wrong places.”
“I think all of the lies that have been told for more than a year and a half about “the Ukrainians are winning”, “Ukrainian causes just”, “the Russians are evil”, “the Russians are incompetent” - all of that is collapsing. And it's collapsing because what’s happening on the battlefield is horrific,” Macgregor told Carlson.
In this sense, the former adviser to the Department of Defense during the Presidency of Donald Trump affirmed that Ukraine had lost 400,000 men during the conflict with Russia.
“Ukrainians now we think have lost 400,000 men killed in battle. We were talking about 300-350,000 a few months ago. Within the last month of this supposed counteroffensive which was to sweep the battlefield, they lost at least 40,000 killed,” he said.

Let that sink in....
Let it sink in how much we spend for national defense. A lot of that is to defend from Russia. It seems to me you are being penny wise and pound foolish. Eliminating Russia as a threat will go a long way to helping the finances of this country.
Also, I grew up with a constant fear of Russia who was and still is our enemy. I think our grand children and children will be a lot happier with that not hanging around their necks like it was with us. All of the other major nations of the world have learned to live in peace. But Russia does not change. They need to change.
Unlike you, I did not grow up with any of our "enemies" hanging around my neck, and I sought successfully to teach this forward. I am sorry you did. Duck and cover.
Doesn't matter. Our grand children and children are already massively indebted -- indentured servitude in a way -- for about 253,000 USD per kid and grand kid. Do your own family math. No matter what happens, we owe millions for "yesterday." And the price tag grows so rapidly that one has to update the umber every day to be anywhere near current.
Some conservatives say stop the spending, and the "officially" non-NATO war between two non-NATO nations is not our business, and we shouldn't be involved. Some say we should play the "world's policeman," and pay and pay and pay.
Robinson pointed out in his advice to us, there is "a difference of opinion whether or not the US government should be involved in a controversial foreign war where we were not attacked."
You and I have a difference of opinion. Opinion. And your argument is perhaps as controversial to me as mine is to you. But we hold opinions. Opinions. Yours argue for spending more money. Mine argue to stop. We differ. On opinions.
” involved in a controversial foreign war where we were not attacked.”
Better to support a country being attacked so we do not have to be attacked.
Russia is our enemy, and it is cheaper to help someone else fight them than to keep spending to deter them from attacking us or anyone else. You are being penny wise and pound foolish. Unless of course you want to defund the military just like you might want to defund the police.
“I did not grow up with any of our “enemies” hanging around my neck”
That shows
You # 162 --- "Also, I grew up with a constant fear of Russia who was and still is our enemy. I think our grand children and children will be a lot happier with that not hanging around their necks like it was with us. "
Have a nice chat with yourself.
-”I did not grow up with any of our “enemies” hanging around my neck. “
That was your quote, I was quoting you, fool.
Stop with the unsolicited pings...I have no interest in your dopey commentary.
"Also, I grew up with a constant fear of Russia who was and still is our enemy. I think our grand children and children will be a lot happier with that not hanging around their necks like it was with us. "
Your vocabulary. My use of your vocabulary, as I stated and state again: ”I did not grow up with any of our 'enemies' hanging around my neck.“
Quote me. Quote you. Constant fear. Versus no fear. Something hanging around someone's neck? The massive debt. Haging around all our kids' necks.
Remember their stated SMO goal was not to conquer Kiev and occupy Ukraine, but to protect the rights of the 4 new oblasts to join Russia, to demiltarize the nazis that have been disenfranchising and killing Russian heritage speakers since 2014 and stop ukraine from joining NATO.
They got a long way to go in protecting the new territories but they sure as hell have achieved bloody progress in destroying the Uke military…which exists only on constant transfusions of western aid and equipment, even that starting to lag as western stockpiles are drawn down and Kiev digs ever deeper into its population to replace over 500,00 dead and crippled men ( conservative estimate, the WIA could be hundreds of thousands more);
Uke NATO membership is impossible given the war, and the stoked militarism and hate of fanatical nationalism.
In the long fight, Russia is the heavyweight and Ukraine by the week, is slipping farther out of middleweight status.
BTW, whoever stalled on the absolute belief that military confrontation is the only solution to “Eliminating Russia as a threat will go a long way to helping the finances of this country”
Wait.
We know.
People who personally profit from war and hold power by fear.
Who “fears” a strong Russia with nuclear forces?
Some maroon that never thought about the threat of a weak Russia with nuclear forces.
When does the Pentagon start saying, “We are just now beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel?”
Ukraine will draft women next—then any one they can get their hands on. Hire Turks to fight. If Ukraine has lost that many Russia has lost double that number! Victory is just 100 Billion dollars away!
Much of that is because we armed ourselves against a dangerous and nefarious Russia. If Russia were out of the picture we would not have to arm ourselves to that extent. There are other places we can cut back on. And When Russia is out of the picture we can really cut back. It is still a dangerous world and Russia is dangerous.
I am sorry but the thug knows no other way.
“Also, if Ukraine has lost that many, no doubt that Russia has lost a lot more, perhaps as many as double Ukraine’s losses.”
LOL. Why?
About half if not more of the “Russians” in theater are 1st and 2nd Army Corps who are native to Lugansk, Donetsk, Mariupol and Zaporozhiye. They obviously know their land better than West Ukrainian Galicians.
Not to mention their overwhelming advantage in firepower over Ukrainian military.

Tucker Carlson @TuckerCarlson interview “Viktor” Orbán. (Aug 29,2023)

Ep. 20 Hungary shares a border with Ukraine. We traveled to Budapest to speak with the country’s prime minister, Viktor Orbán.
I fail to see a logic. Tens of thousands of Ukrainians are fighting on the Russian side in 1st and 2nd corps indeed.
