Kyle Rittenhouse is facing a lawsuit from the estate of one of the men he shot in self-defense.
The lawsuit was timely filed on the third anniversary of the death of 36-year-old Joseph Rosenbaum Friday. Rittenhouse was acquitted of all criminal charges surrounding the incident a year later
Rosenbaum's estate is also targeting the City of Kenosha, its officials, the City of West Allis, six local Sheriff’s departments, and two police departments for “compensatory and punitive damages” over what it refers to as Rosenbaum's “wrongful death.” During Rittenhouse's trial, witnesses confirmed that Rosenbaum reached for Rittenhouse's gun during the Black Lives Matter protest the two were present at.
"I’m being sued again for defending my life," Rittenhouse posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Now, Rosenbaum’s estate is out to capitalize off of his death.
Too bad that the legal profession is captive to the lawless, as we're seeing in the baseless legal attacks on Trump and his people.
Tulsi Gabbard called it as she saw it, though.
Huzzah, Tulsi!
If his family had an ounce of decency, they would hang their heads in shame at the mention of his name.
But they don’t, which explains a lot.
Hang in there, Kyle. You will prevail. I would countersue.
Who or what is the “Rosenbaum Estate”?
What is the background on them?
The fact that is country allows a civil suit after wining in a criminal trial is just sick. And in this case it is a frivolous suit that will occur in front of a mindless jury.
Cross file a lawsuit saying that the man grabbed my gun.
only lawyers. real humans don’t do this kind of stuff.
This is the guy who grabbed the muzzle of his AR. pulled it into his own body and now they wonder why he was shot.
Let the tumbrels roll.
That's the problem with OJ Simpson's case.
We need a different word for whatever is going on here. There is no way a schizophrenic child rapist who was even on camera pacing like an animal begging for people to shoot him earlier in the day of his very timely and predictable passing, has an “estate”.
In cases such as this, it is usually made up of family members and dependents.
Countersue
I can understand this sentiment. However, the burden of proof is lower in a civil case. OJ Simpson won (acquitted) his criminal trial but lost in the civil case arising out of Ron Goldman and Nicole Brown Simpson deaths.
Instead of “estate” how about “filthy money-grubbers who are family members and dependents of a sicko child predator pedophile.”
So why didn’t Mary Jo Kopechne’s family sue? How easy then would it have been for them?
I had to look up the specifics. The family received $90,000 from Kennedy and $50,000 from insurance….Also, they were permitted to keep their lives…
Edward Kennedy, of course, continued to serve in the Senate, much to the glee of the media.
Paid off, $500K was the sum I was told, to get her buried without autopsy, a huge sum in those days.
I doubt he had any dependents who were financially supported by him. So what are their damages? No real loss of income or support.
Emotional damages? Loss of comfort? Because he was no longer around to molest his dependents?
Doesn't really roll off the tongue too slick, but it works in a pinch.
