I wish I knew what happened to Bob Malone. Back in the 90s when I spent some time as a graduate student in his lab, he did not seem like an antiscience kook, although he and his wife came off as rather liberal.

Now, he’s just spreading the antivax propaganda and trying to convince people that catching Covid is no big deal.

I think that a disease that kills one out of every hundred who catch it and leaves 20-30% with serious health impairments *is* something to be avoided.

Be careful of the misuse of statistics. It is dishonest to represent the outcome of catching a disease at the level of the entire population. By that measure, no one should ever worry about rabies, because it only kills about 1 person per 100 million. But the thing is, if you get bit by a rabid dog and do nothing, your chance of dying is 100%.

There is only one reason I can think of that leftists have targeted conservatives with antivax/antiscience propaganda. It is because they want us to die.

So you discount the harm from the vaxes themselves? People are falling over dead for no reason in large numbers and having other complications that will be life long.
Those are some serious stats.
And no one wants to even ask why it’s happening.

ExDemMom, not treating the virus with known treatments and waiting until the virus has completed the replication phase and then sticking the patient on a respirator to catch a strep lung bacterial infection might have increase the death rate, not to mention ascribing all sorts of other causes of death to the virus.
