Several years ago my Primary Care Dr asked me if I had any firearms in the home. I gave him my best Chili Palmer answer - “no. not really”.
None of my doctors has ever asked me about guns.
Do you have any rugs in your bathroom?
I believe that is none of your business.
Do you have a smoke detector in every room?
I believe that is none of your business.
Do your own any guns?
I believe that is none of your business.
After we had gone through the list he smiled at me and said, "apparently anything not directly medical is none of my business?"
I said "yep".
After that we got along fine. Good doctor, was sorry when he retired.
20 or so years ago our son’s pediatrician something like that. He got a little huffy when I said I considered that a borderline boundary violation, that he wasn’t a household safety expert.
We were aging out anyway, that was the last time we went to that practice.
