DeSantis Pressed on Appearing at Field of Dreams as Trump Arrested

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) was pressed over his appearance at Iowa’s Field of Dreams on Thursday as former President Donald Trump was being arrested by Fulton County, Georgia, officials.

DeSantis, who is down by as many as 40 points against Trump, held an event at Iowa’s Field of Dreams at the same time Trump turned himself in to Fulton County officials. DeSantis played catch with his children and other children during the event.

“What do you think about the split screen of you here in the field of dreams and former President Trump being arrested in Georgia?” CBS News’s Aaron Navarro asked the Republican presidential hopeful.

DeSantis offered no comment about Trump’s arrest, instead stating he is “glad” he is in Iowa.

“Well, I’m glad I’m at the Field of Dreams. I’m happy to be here,” DeSantis responded.

This is the Press looking to create controversy where there is none.

I agree. This is the same press who has no problem with Joe Biden vacationing at Lake Tahoe while the people of Maui continue to desperately try to learn the fate of their loved ones and recover from the total loss they've suffered.

Oh, and Christi is a non-starter for me. Probably the only one I just couldn’t vote for.

Gimme a break.

If it was DeSantis being booked, Trump would be having a field day, of a different kind.

DeSantis simply showed the world doesn’t rotate around Trump, which apparently upset a few Trump obsessed people.

Our real enemy is the National Debt, which is careening to $40 trillion, with no speed bumps to slow it down.

It's definitely near the top, if not at the top. Trump raised the debt a staggering 40% in just 4 years, far and away more than anyone ever. He's still campaigning on government handouts and big government.

We've been co-opted, and unless someone like DeSantis can get in there and exert some control, not only on the financial collapse of the country, but also the ongoing moral collapse of the country, that Trump represents as well, we'll be both morally and financially broke before much longer.

But, sometimes you have to hit rock bottom, for your mistakes to become clear, and you finally change course back to what works - God's rules of humility and frugality. I think that day is coming as well.

Why are there Freepers who still can’t see it? RDS is a GOPe stooge. Let the fools among us learn the hard way!

For the rabid Trump supporters, anything Trump does to take attention away from the other candidates, like scheduling events opposite the debate, is brilliant, magnificent, genius, etc. Anything any other candidate does to take attention away from Trump is akin to sacrilege, even if it is just continuing their campaign and ignoring Trump entirely. It all has to be about Trump, you see, and anything that doesn't comport with that must be attacked mercilessly.

That is a well reasoned and pithy analysis. Therefore, you will be subjected to personal attacks and name-calling.

You would think the people of Flori=DUH would be upset about DeSantis spending eight million dollars of their tax money travelling to Iowa, New Hampshire and other places.

Nobody cared, nor was any attention given to RDS in a cornfield.

He would get more attention acting like he was a Governor of Florida or something like that.

Who cares?

In related news, DeSantis was seen eating a salad the day Trump was booked, sending a signal that he was ignoring the MAGA day of fasting.

If current Anti Trump behavior continues among Republicans, they won’t have much of a party left by 2028.

“It’s really sad.”

Why do you expect all of these candidates to respect Trump when Trump just calls them names? If Trump truly needs help he should ask for it. And he needs a whole lotta help. Running out of bridges to burn.

He needs to convince the voters that he is something more than just being anti-Trump.

Huh? I don’t see much that Desantis is running an anti-Trump campaign. That ribbon goes to Chris Christie.

Trump has lost three elections in a row. Stolen or not…..the trend is pretty convincing. I would vote for Trump if he wins the nomination, but he won’t.

Truthfully, I think the GOP was done by the beginning of the Obama presidency. McVain’s inept 2008 campaign and his refusal to go after Obama, the mystery man with so many red flags, made me realize the GOP was in cahoots with the Democrat Party. Incidentally, it was Obama’s election that made me leave the RATs for good. Yes, this is sad. Trump opened the curtain and showed us all that both the GOP, and the conservative movement within it, are both corrupt!

I wonder if it’s him or Wifey who’s the eager one.

Probably both, with Wifey just a tad more eager.
