Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) was pressed over his appearance at Iowa’s Field of Dreams on Thursday as former President Donald Trump was being arrested by Fulton County, Georgia, officials.
DeSantis, who is down by as many as 40 points against Trump, held an event at Iowa’s Field of Dreams at the same time Trump turned himself in to Fulton County officials. DeSantis played catch with his children and other children during the event.
“What do you think about the split screen of you here in the field of dreams and former President Trump being arrested in Georgia?” CBS News’s Aaron Navarro asked the Republican presidential hopeful.
DeSantis offered no comment about Trump’s arrest, instead stating he is “glad” he is in Iowa.
“Well, I’m glad I’m at the Field of Dreams. I’m happy to be here,” DeSantis responded.

Are you under the impression that Trump would’ve wanted any of his rivals stealing even one photon of his spotlight? Then you don’t know Trump as well as you think you do.

No, he could have denounced the Biden regime for trying to convict and jail their (and his) leading political rival on a myriad of bogus charges. DeSantis clearly hurt himself by saying nothing, and this only days after Biden offered only a disastrous (no pun intended) "no comment" response to a "gotcha" question about the Hawaii fires.
If somehow DeSantis gets the nomination, the full fury of the Deep State will come down on him like it did on Trump, and if that doesn't happen, that will be proof that he is one of them.

Too bad. I seriously believed that 2028 would be DeSantis’ year. He couldn’t just wait FOUR F—CKING YEARS? To be able to run this time, he had no choice but to sell his soul. I thought he had core principles re the Constitution, loyalty, conservatism but he doesn’t. If they’re “core”, you can’t chuck them in a day or week. Which he did.

Instead of having the “resign to run” law changed to his benefit, he should have finished the last 2 years of his term in Florida, doing his best for the state and its people. Then he would have had 2 years to fine tune his public image and build grass-roots support instead of running to the monied elite. He needs to convince the voters that he is something more than just being anti-Trump. That would be much easier for him in 2028.

While Trump is far from a perfect man, he is truly the only person running for President that is on the peoples side and not owned by the Oligarchs. I plan to take my chances with Trump.

Why should DeSantis make Trump’s troubles his troubles? He doesn’t have to spend his campaign in mourning over Trump. This is a nothingburger.
