Sad. They lost 40,000 in gory fighting last month alone, according to estimates which Col Macgregor believes are accurate. They are forced to crawl out under fire to attack the first of 3 lines of Russian defenses as the Russians build a 4th line behind the others. Remnants of platoons are surrendering because they can’t fight as it would mean abandoning the injured - there are too many injured to continue the fight. They are forced to die in the effort to make it look like ‘progress’ is being made so the war will continue to be funded.
So they have a raid and quickly put up a flag to make it look like they are still viable, knowing it’s a hit and run. The dying continues.

Special Forces raid, not an invasion. Similar to Doolittle’s raid on Tokyo on April 18, 1942. It was a way to raise domestic morale, but its military significance was minimal.
In fact they’ve put a flag near a trailer park in Olenevka. Some local drunk spotted them and brought a rifle, hence the “firefight with the enemy”. The drunk is okay by the way, the “special forces” fled.
It is actually on CCTV, a guy who barely stands, in underpants defeating the alleged “D-Day” invasion.

It was fun. Occasionally someone would end up with a bloody nose or a bruise, etc.
Ukraine has become a game, only folks are getting killed. It makes about as much sense as a schoolyard child’s game at this point.

Germans landed on American soil. Japanese landed on Austrailian soil. Didn’t mean either won the war.
Crimea is Russia.
So, to say this was meaningless gesture is an understatement.
Crimea nor any of the annexed regions will ever be part of Ukraine again. Nor do those that live there want to be part of Ukraine again.
