There are many reasons that children become Fatherless. My cousin’s husband died of cancer when her daughters were very young. She never remarried so her children were “Fatherless”. Her daughters are the two nicest, well-adjusted young ladies you would ever want to meet. My husband walked out when our children were very young. Today those children have become an architect, an aerospace engineer, a senior editor for one of the largest employers in the country, and last but not least, my youngest child is a Col in the military. So, stop painting with such a broad brush.

You bought the libs re-definition of “fatherless”. Married women do not have fatherless children.
Your cousin’s children had the high probablity of turning out well because widows children turn out the same as other married women.
Your children had less good of a chance. On measures of well being and outcome children of divorce do worse than children raised in families.
Fatherless children do worse on every metric and constitute the bulk of criminals, prisoners and welfare cases. They also are more likely to have other fatherless children.
The broad brush is spot on.
