The moral of the story: Don’t put your Dick’s where they shouldn’t go, or you’ll take it up the a**.
To: Red Badger
There is one slight positive with the stock drop....it’s now in the range of a 3.6-percent dividend...which typically isn’t that bad.
Now, if you asked me if it will slide further down...about a year ago, it was around $105 (where it stands today at $111). I wouldn’t buy into the stock until it gets to the $80 range, and I’d only buy it for dividend purposes.
But all of this begs the question...in a recession, are people spending money that much on sports?

There’s a Dick’s down the street from us. Back when they virtue signaled out of the gun business they were selling off all their ammo at a loss. I was getting cases of 12 gauge trap loads for $30. Wish I’d bought a pallet or two.

I began to hate and avoided shopping in that store years ago. Overpriced merchandise flogged by rude staff. Have to admit, though, it does bear the perfect name. Prefer Cabela’s.

I used to shop there once in a while. I have a knockoff sodastream and used paintball bottles for my CO2 that I’d get refilled there. When they shut down their gun shop they took their paintball refiller with it, and I haven’t set foot in there since. Now I’m left with a bunch of useless paintball bottles since they were the only place near me who could refill them.

Chalk it up to jogflation.

Summary: Dick’s is still being run by dicks.

Are they selling “tuck friendly” jock straps?

Corporate executives have a fiduciary duty to act in the best interests of their stock holders. Executives that are intentionally hurting the values of their companies by adopting "woke" policies, that destroy stockholder equity, are acting against their fiduciary duty.
Any executive that can be show to adopt corporate policies that they knew would hurt their valuations, can and should be sued by their stockholders.
Any executive who has made statements such as "I dont care if the stock goes down", in response to backlash from woke policies, can be personally sued by the stockholders for their lost equity.

Going woke is not merely harmless. It is promoting the decadence that is destroying the USA.

"Equity" is shorthand for "from each according to his ability to each according to his need."
Democrat/Communists in America prefer this over Liberty.

Haven’t been in a Dick’s since the early 1990’s.
They were an early-entry corporate gun banner.

Yup, going the way of Sears and K-mart..
Sears did have tools, but people don't fix or do much in the way of mechanical hobbies anymore... They just set about and play with their phones.

This is what happens when corporations decide to insert themselves into the culture wars. For its part, Dick's was at the forefront of banning gun sales following the Parkland shooting, as if doing so would have any impact at all on mass shootings. I was a big Dick's user and at that time I had almost $1,000 of Dicks Gift Cards.
When they went crazy, me and thousands of other customers vowed to stay out of Dicks {as soon as I used up my cards}.
Dick's had some ammo discounted at 50-75% and that is all I spent my gift card money for.
Today, I don't even buy a golf ball, shirt or bag of golf tees at Dicks.
