Election season is rapidly approaching. The first Republican debate is this week. The Iowa caucus is in January, and the New Hampshire primary is soon thereafter. With over a dozen declared candidates, the marathon placements are starting to take shape.
For now, don't lean too heavily on polls. First, we're too far out, and too much can happen. Second, we all know how we feel about polls. The poll showing our candidate doing well is Gospel. The poll showing our candidate faring poorly is Soros-funded dreck. As the polls change direction, so too change their designations. Rinse. Repeat.
But taking this into consideration, it is undeniable that, if all primary voting were held today, then Trump would win handily, DeSantis would come in a solid second, and both Ramaswamy and Scott will have garnered enough second-tier support to warrant vice presidential consideration. Unfortunately for whichever camp you fall into, the polling so far suggests that Trump can't lose the primary and can't win the general election.
But what should be a civil discussion among rational conservatives is turning personal and nasty — not just among candidates, but among their supporters as well. Trump-supporters are treating DeSantis-supporters like neocon sellouts, and DeSantis-supporters are treating Trump-supporters like cultish conspiracy theorists. Neither charge is merited, and the rabble-rousers on both sides would do well to cut the ad hominem attacks. Such are the tactics of leftists peddling the sexualization of children, not of principled Americans who reasonably disagree about the best path forward.

I said I feel sorry for you, and that still goes.
To carry around the raw anger that you display must be exhausting.
Agree totally.
But he’s going to pick someone who will be at this debate on Wednesday night.
He has suggested he might, but that's not set in stone at this point. Considering his age, I certainly hope he is very careful about who he picks.
The surrogates around DeSantis and the campaign have essentially become the Never Trump crowd. The entire operation screams uniparty, establishment Republicanism. Personally, I’ve held my nose for a few decades and voted uniparty, but won’t be making that mistake again.
Trump voters and Republican voters are not the same thing. Overlap? Sure. But the core of Trump voters aren’t Republican voters. Many Trump voters won’t feel represented by a uniparty Republican and will just stay home.
Are you kidding me? Only Trumpers would rather have Biden and Harris finish destroying America if they can’t have Trump.

There ya go projecting again. It’s ok...we see what you are doing.
Right now, I’m looking for an alternative to Trump - who I won’t vote for again. Tim Scott is worth a look imo:

Your choice is going to be Trump or Biden.
I am not particularly fond of Trump, but he governed very very well. Based on that I am still voting for him. I am not voting on him to come to dinner or to pal around with. I am voting for him to govern as least as well las he did in 2016.
People need to stop personalizing everything! We should be voting on relatable past performance and more importantly removing Biden from power. Yes, DeSantis has done very well as governor of Florida. His time was not now, he chose poorly! Scott’s time is not now! later perhaps but not now!
“Your choice is going to be Trump or Biden.” ... How will they hide Biden’s obvious dementia long enough to get him through this term, much less another? Covid allowed Biden to only be seen walking to AF1 while offering a wan wave. He’s already 80+. Before Biden, Ronald Reagan was the oldest POTUS, leaving office at age 77.
They’ll try and likely succeed. Even if they don’t how would Newsom, Mooch or any other Rat be any less of a threat? Voting for me in almost all occasions comes done to giving someone power or denying someone power. Who will do the least harm to you, your family or the nation? No Rat qualifies in the “least harm “ category. That should be obvious! I voted for Trump in2016 to deny Hellary power. I expected Rockefeller NYC Republican behavior from Trump. I was pleasantly surprised that turned out not to he the case.
Typo: note done = down
You let us know how that goes. The others are politicians as usual. Scott supported Murkowski which marks him as a GOPe party animal. The rest have long histories of duplicity and ties to Globalism, especially Vivek with his “no immigration caps on skilled workers”.
Just go to Rumble and watch Nick Alvear’s documentary titled The Greatest Show On Earth and you will know what’s really going on.

Not going to happen. It is a contest, not a love fest.
Someone needs to tell DeSantis and his crew.
What nonsense? DeSantis has been the one throwing out insults. He even insulted the voters.
Heck with him.
That's what you have primaries for. Let the populace
have a say in what goes on. The rulers pretty much
want to set all the regs/guide lines minus a lot of input.
People say they aren’t for controlled speech but here they are calling for controlled speech.

The meme was interesting. But it fails to capture the real issue of Uni Party Rinos. Which is clearly what the elite in DC want. Get back to me when rank and file GOP members start to actively clear the lying backstabbing corruption from your party. And yes, I was and I remain an ardent Trump supporter.
