Vivek Ramaswamy, a long-shot (that is now a longer shot)
contender for the Republican presidential nomination, said in
an interview that the United States should reduce its aid to
Israel.
Israel’s interests do not always align with America’s but they have been a very valuable ally. They were the first and one of the only Nations to support the USA after 9/11. Israel is our only dependable ally in the Middle East. We would be very foolish indeed to weaken those ties.
Israel is a small and geographically vulnerable country but in terms of military intelligence and the ability to forestall rogue nations from nuclear attacks there is no one better. For the aid we give them we receive value in return unlike the majority of the other nations we squander American $ on.
This is another indication of Ramaswamy’s total unsuitability as POTUS and frankly shocking. Seems more like an Obama, Biden position than one for a President who wants to keep America safe.
The Swami just lost the Jewish vote, gained a few Islamic ones but he is now doomed.
