In an interview with the Florida Standard, Ron DeSantis is ripping Donald Trump backers as privileging personality over conservative purity.

I agree. I looked at Carter’s pardon of draft dodgers and some others and I just don’t see how you craft a blanket pardon of J6ers without it being too wide in the time before he left office since they weren’t identified yet and the facts and charges unknown.
No doubt, consultants started telling DeSantis, back in 2018, “Ron, you really need to ride this MAGA wave. It’s the latest thing. If you can attach yourself to it, you can go far.”.
So Ron decided that he was suddenly against globalism, and foreign interventionism. And he decided to start attacking the very establishment that was advising him - until they told him it was time to stop.
The GOP basically hates the people who vote for the GOP.

Right. Because people like Trump are a dime a dozen. The GOP is loaded with independent, non-consultant driven people. Hell, there are half a dozen Trumps who have thrown their hat into the ring. Take your pick - Hutchinson, Suarez, Christie, Haley, DeSantis.
Their loyalty to the GOP and their corporate donors far outweighs any loyalty they have to us.

We don’t need any reasons other than those which are perfectly obvious to everyone who’s been paying attention since the stolen election:
1. Despite being surrounded by anti-American hate mongers every single day of his administration he accomplished more for America than any President in the past hundred years;
2. The Democrat/Socialist anti-American Left, its Deep State operatives, and its media indoctrination allies are destroying our Constitutional Republic;
3. There is no candidate other than President Trump who has demonstrated he/she has the courage and the the commitment to rid our government of the people and the policies that have brought America to the brink of existential disaster.

I am undecided in the GOP primary question, and I will vote for the nominee no matter who he (she?) is...but this is not the Republican party I like seeing...this is nasty...yeah, I know it is part of the “game” of politics.
I also know this is an inflection point in the history of the Republic. God is putting this nation under judgement and we need a spiritual awakening. Our side of the aisle isn’t doing itself any favors with this constant anger.
In fact, we’re hurting ourselves.
Debates should happen. The sniping between the two top parties in this conflict isn’t debate.

This attack is only going to further erode Rhonda’s support. The anti-Trump people are supporting Krispy Kreme while this will drive away people who originally favored DeSantis but still liked Trump.
It’s the exact sort of thing that Ted Cruz did in 2016. Which makes sense considering who is running the DeSantis campaign now.

The Accomplishments Of President Trump
Now you provide the list of accomplishments DeSantis is credited for. Best of luck to you in your endeavor to outdo Trump's accomplishments. Of course any consideration to what DeSantis has accomplished as Governor of Florida, must take into consideration that without Trump's endorsement he would have lost to Andrew Gillum, who was leading in the polls until Trump endorsed DeSantis. So, does one really add those accomplishments to Trump also?
Boy that's a tough call, but in my book I believe those accomplishments are the work of Trump. DeSantis's stint in Congress certainly didn't propel him to victory. Which was all DeSantis really had going for him politically, and apparently it wasn't nearly enough. So, yes I believe Ron's bragging points really belong in Trumps bucket of accomplishments.
But, by all means do your best Captaianpaintball.
Just promise you won't go splat on us.

Tip O’Neill was a politician of the Old World. Yes , i understand that he and Reagan got along famously as well as any Irish cousins can. At the end of the day, they could agree to disagree, pat each other’s backs, and move on.
