Major Hurricane Hilary is moving along the Eastern Pacific coastline toward the SW US. Tropical storm conditions are possible by late Sunday in portions of southern California where a Tropical Storm Watch is in effect.
Heavy rainfall in association with Hilary is expected to impact the Southwestern United States through next Wednesday, peaking on Sunday and Monday.
Meanwhile, the Atlantic tropical season is heating up.

My son lives in Sierra Madre and he just sent me this video of a mud flood there in 1954. His house in Sierra Madre is at 1,000 feet high so, he ought to be okay.
Correct. Posting without brain fully engaged — my standard.
Hi NautiNurse,Bump.
Hi Nauti,
This one will pass over me! So thanks for the reminder to make sure we have bottled water, flashlights, and backup all devices. It’s possible we will lose electricity for awhile. I just purchased a backup battery for phones and devices fearing the fire season ahead. Didn’t expect a summer storm, lol.
Hope everyone rides it out safely and without much damage.
Might be helpful to remind people that roads are slick with oil in summer so drive with great caution due to other drivers who haven’t a clue how to handle roads in this weather!
