"Is LA anticipating any special preps for Hilary?"

My son lives in Sierra Madre and he just sent me this video of a mud flood there in 1954. His house in Sierra Madre is at 1,000 feet high so, he ought to be okay.

Hi Nauti,
This one will pass over me! So thanks for the reminder to make sure we have bottled water, flashlights, and backup all devices. It’s possible we will lose electricity for awhile. I just purchased a backup battery for phones and devices fearing the fire season ahead. Didn’t expect a summer storm, lol.
Hope everyone rides it out safely and without much damage.
Might be helpful to remind people that roads are slick with oil in summer so drive with great caution due to other drivers who haven’t a clue how to handle roads in this weather!

Gerald is covering Hurricane Hilary on his Agenda Free YouTube Channel.

Those who do not give real caution to the Flood/Flash Flood WARNINGS will be putting themselves in Life-Threatening situations. The NWS has said these flash floods will develop quicker than expected in the Warning Zones!!!

THE WEAKENING OF THE HURRICANE WINDS -—DOES NOT-— REDUCE THE RAINFALL HAZARDS.

Salton Sea, Bombay Beach...that whole area has a wild history. Looking at it today, hard to imagine resorts and celebrities and boating there...

It’s eerie now.

The decade we were in Phoenix we spent a good amount of time in Joshua Tree, Palm Beach, Inland Empire in general. Good restaurants, music, ballet, and old man hikes in the park.

I remember looking at draiage as a retired contractor thinking what if…

Wise words. After the sun sets, it is a good idea to stay off the roads altogether once the rain and winds set in.

Thank you for your kind words, HollyB. The Atlantic is a bit more active than usual at the moment. As mentioned before, looks like a spilled bag of Skittles. Per usual, we prepare for the worst and hope for the best.
