Ford’s CEO apparently got complaints from electric vehicle (EV) owners during his recent cross-country road trip.
While on his journey, Jim Farley drove one of the company’s electric pickup trucks, Fox Business reported Friday, noting he called the act of charging the vehicle “pretty challenging.”
“It was a really good reality check of the challenges of what our customers go through and the importance of fast charging and what we’re going to have to do to improve the charging experience,” Farley stated in a video clip posted Sunday:

I plan to purchase an EV......Never!
My son works for one of the contractors on the “Blue Oval” plant in Kentucky, where Ford is planning on manufacturing batteries for the electric F150 trucks.
Two messages I have received from him over the last 3 months.
1-They are given electric F150’s to drive around the site, because it covers such a large area, but plug them into gas powered generators every night to charge them. He included pictures. The contractors thought that was pretty funny
2- to save costs on this new battery plant, Ford has decided to replace their emergency back up batteries with generators, because the batteries are to expensive.
Yeah, but after you spend all of that money, the electricity is free, right?
Bueller?
“That is a nice car company you have there, it would be a shame if something happened to it.”
No that is not right. All the domestics were lobbying for more stringent EV mandates while toyota, for example, was lobbying against.
This was regulatory capture which paid off when Biden won and gave them the EV mandates they wanted.
For this Ford douche to finally drive around America and pretend to be “concerned” is the final act of fakery for a situation that they lobbied to create.
That is absolutely brilliant for certain locations. The danger is that some fed would find it illegal and toss people in a deep hole black site for trying. How dare people male money without goverment approval.
“I don’t think anyone at the EPA said that to them.”
The EPA told them they are not going to be allowed to only sell ICE vehicles.
The same idiots at Bud, Target and Skittles… like most Americans, they are incapable of rational thought, and possess no critical thinking skills.
He just figured this out? Well goooollleeee Gomer
This is what the business schools are spitting. Woke liberals with zero common sense.
Problem solved using ling drop cords.
Just get a buddy who commutes to near you and you both buy a drop cord at least half the trips length, you meet half way and swap cords and continue on, problem solved and no time wasted charging batteries which you can do without.
I think Ford are working with their dealers to install charging stations at the dealerships.
Finally waking up to the problems.
So your company has been selling these pieces of sh!t for what, 2 years now and just NOW decided to see how it actually works in real life applications. No wonder Ford’s stock is in the sh!t hole. What a clueless loser.
I don't know. Adding more Chinese technology to an existing problem doesn't sound like a good solution to me. (Sorry, I just couldn't help myself.)
You caught me in some unintentional you didn’t/can”t make this stuff up, life should not subject us to this,
Government is the problem. Here in California, you have to get your car smog-tested every two years in order to keep registration intact. Two years ago, our car passed. This time, despite only 37,000 miles, it failed the testing. Smog center tech told us to take it to the dealer servicing to fix it and retest. We took the car, and the dealer said they're not authorized to do smog testing or fixing; so we got an oil and air filter change, and new spark plugs. Did a 2nd smog test, and it failed part of the test. We're on the search for a mechanic shop that is authorized to do the work, at the risk of being charged thousands of dollars for unnecessary work. The car runs fine, much better than two years ago. Clock is ticking on getting it to pass smog test and get re-registered.
This is one reason why people are buying EV's, because of hurdles thrown in their path of using ICE vehicles.
The battery needs to charge while the wheels are turning. Not a big deal to do, actually. A magnito perhaps?
Ford needs to go the Toyota route and go hybrid with their vehicles. Toyota knows it is way too soon to go all in on EV technology with all its range and charging issues and global consumers are telling them. For consumers saddled with
escalating gas prices, hybrids will be their choice. Toyota will be the winner in that department.
Were they even turning? We watch Dr. Pol, and most of the time they don’t turn or barely move in Michigan.
I have heard that the Ford electric pickup trucks now have a Barbecue Grill option for the pickup bed ... they are still working on an off switch after it fires up.
