I don’t think Vivek can win local elections, or even as a representative in a state legislature or Congress. Most of his political interests are very large subjects. He does not have much to say about the little things that get people elected to legislatures.
For Vivek to advance politically, I think he is first going to have be a “big time” appointment to a major office. When and by whom I do not know, but an office like head of the FTC would be along the lines of things he is most familiar with, and in which he could restrain the administrative state in the business arena.
I think Vivek is viewed more favorably in general ways than as a political candidate - people like him more than they are sure they want to elect him.
