The GOP presidential candidate backtracked and said, ‘There is no gay gene.’
(LifeSiteNews) — After briefly veering a bit off course from his foundational TRUTH-grounded campaign, GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy seems to have made an important course correction.
A few weeks ago, the candidate declared unequivocally that homosexuality is “hardwired” at birth.
“The gay rights movement was predicated on the idea, which I’m quite sympathetic to, that the sex of the person that you’re attracted to is hardwired on the day you’re born,” Ramaswamy said in July.
His assertion that homosexuality is an immutable trait was based on an untruth — a lie — long advanced by the political left to increase unwarranted LGBT rights, including the U.S. Supreme Court’s unconscionable Obergefell decision that shredded society’s concept of marriage while throwing open the door to the plague of transgenderism.
LifeSiteNews challenged Ramaswamy in a commentary published Friday, August 12, citing scientific studies that “explode the false narrative that being ‘gay’ is an innate condition that is controlled or largely compelled by one’s genetic makeup,” according to a recent report by the Ruth Institute.
The report noted that despite decades of desperate research hoping to prove that homosexuality is an innate, immutable trait, even the American Psychological Association (APA) has been forced to conclude that “there is no consensus among scientists about the exact reasons that an individual develops a heterosexual, bisexual, gay, or lesbian orientation.”
Course correction
By Sunday, August 14, just 48 hours later, the presidential hopeful had recalibrated his message, distancing himself from his previous statements asserting that homosexuality is innate.
In an X (formerly Twitter) post about an impromptu encounter with a self-identifying “pansexual” activist at the Iowa State Fair caught on video, Ramaswamy stated there is “no gay gene” while citing the conflicting beliefs maintained by the LGBTQ+ political left in order to justify ongoing erosion of immutable truth as a matter of law, regulation, and culture:
"The LGBTQ movement protests that the sex of the person you’re attracted to is hardwired at birth even though there’s no gay gene, yet *also* requires you to believe that your sex is totally fluid over the course of life even though there’s clearly a sex chromosome. You can’t believe both of these things at once, yet they call you a bigot unless you do. That’s just the hard TRUTH."

The activist approached Ramaswamy and asked, “What were your opinions on the LGBTQ+ community?”
“I don’t think it’s one community,” Ramaswamy said. “I mean, how could it be? Just mash together an alphabet soup. Trans is fundamentally in tension with gay if you ask me.”
Questioned about same-sex couples, he indicated that he doesn’t “have a negative view of same-sex couples, but I do have a negative view of a tyranny of the minority.”
He continued:
"I think that in the name of protecting against the tyranny of the majority — and there are times in this country’s history where we have had a tyranny of the majority — we have now in the name of protecting against tyranny of the majority created a new tyranny of the minority.
"And I think that that’s wrong. I don’t think that somebody who’s religious should be forced to officiate a wedding that they disagree with.
"I don’t think somebody who is a woman who’s worked really hard for her achievements should be forced to compete against a biological man in a swim competition.
"I don’t think that somebody who’s a woman that respects her bodily autonomy and dignity should be forced to change clothes in a locker room with a man.
"That’s not freedom. That’s oppression.
"And so I believe that we live in a country where free adults should be free to dress how they want, behave how they want and that’s fine, but you don’t oppress you don’t become oppressive by foisting that on others, and that especially includes kids because kids aren’t the same as adults. And so I think adults are free to make whatever choices they want, but do not foist that ideology onto children before children are in a position as adults to make decisions for themselves.
"And so I think a lot of the frustration in the country, and if I’m being really honest that I also share, comes from that new culture of oppression where saying those things can actually get somebody punished."
The video that was published on X quickly went viral, garnering over 2 million views.
Jordan Peterson recently noted that “Ramaswamy is bright, articulate, and unflappable.”
Ramaswamy is a member of the advisory board “Alliance for Responsible Citizenship” (ARC), a global movement founded by Peterson to push back against the influence of the World Economic Forum (WEF).
He’s also proving to be intellectually curious and honest, exceedingly uncommon but sorely needed traits in the world of politics.
“This is shaping up to be some interesting election,” Peterson added.
Agree!
He didn’t “correct” anything. He flip flopped because he’s now running in a GOP primary. I can’t believe anyone is falling for this WEF loving, Soros sponsored, grifter.

100% true. Vivek is just another anti-Christian globalist who spouts poll-tested rhetoric to trick conservatives. No different than “severely conservative” Mitt Romney or Paul Ryan.
I don’t know what difference this makes, especially to a presidential campaign.
“ There are gay people. ”
There are people who chose to live this way. They don’t have to, even if they have some urges.
I have flashes of committing violence against stupid drivers.
But I don’t act on those impulses.
I have urges to be lazy and quit my job, but I suppress those urges and choose a better path.
Sorta like he “corrected” how many times he had voted for President, in the US? As if that should be hard for a 30 something to remember. A supposed genius, at that.
What a phony, fraud, scam artist this punk is.
This is a nebulous issue with no definite single answer. All we have are anecdotal observations and personal assumptions. It would be a waste of Vivek’s time and useful energy to tangle with it.
What is true for one person like that, may have nothing to do with the causation for some other affected individual.
Why is this a topic at all?
Crime, illegals, border, economy, entitlements, private property rights, taxes, etc.
I’m not a Vivek fan, but your lies and slander just exposes you for a fool.
He sued the WEF and won as they falsely claimed what you claim.
He is not in any way tied to George Soros.
He’s right both times. I lived in SF for many years, knew many gay people. My beautiful friend’s daughter was not beautiful at all and clearly gay when she got old enough to tell.
On the other hand, I knew gay men that told me they “recruited” young boys. “Chicken Hawks,” they called themselves as I recall.
I agree that he seems to get on every side of the issues. He’s a bit too slick. Make it difficult to get a good picture of him. We know what we are getting with Trump. Someone with a history in the public eye, and a dammed good builder.
My guess is Ramaswamy ain’t interested in why perverts are pervy. He had always heard homosexuals were ‘born that way,’ and he bought the lie. After he made the statement, he got lots of blowback from educated sources, so he checked out the research. He found out science agrees that there is no ‘gay gene;’ it is the result of what happens to a child during childhood. Research has shown that a large percentage of homosexuals were sexually assaulted at young ages, ergo resultant homosexuality. Ramaswamy didn’t mention that part, but he confirmed that homosexuals are not ‘born that way.’
No stupid, humanity is what’s ‘hardwired’ at birth, certainly not homosexuality.
One of the flaws of humanity is that humans can be influenced fairly easily by other humans and children are especially vulnerable to influence.
Because this fraud is running for President, and this is yet another example of his phoniness?
BINGO! Also, removes the direct onus of sexually assaulting children, if one maintains it has no effect on why a human turns pervert.
Why is this a topic at all?
Crime, illegals, border, economy, entitlements, private property rights, taxes, etc.
Yes. Keep it simple. Don’t go for the green eyeshade stuff and stay out of the weeds. The slogan should be something like “Good paying jobs, good schools, safe neighborhoods”.
There ain’t no ‘gay gene.’ Vivek corrected his prior erroneous statement on that. Why a human chooses the path of perversion is nebulous.
Can’t be trusted...this is the sort of waffling that would be expected of a Nikki Haley or Chris Christie
Thank you. I kept reading those statements in response comments and wondered. I appreciate your clarification. I’m voting for Trump, but I still find Ramaswamy interesting.
Oddly I agree and disagree. Sex is determined at conception, you are XX or XY. All that are rational scientists can agree on this. During gestation the brain gets hard wired to be male , female or bi-sexual via hormones produced by the fetus and mother. Thus I do think for some, if the hormone levels are wrong the hard wiring goes wrong. Oddly these are the lucky ones.
The unlucky are those born with normal sexual hard wiring and abused as a child which changes not their hard wiring but their entire mental psychology. They are truly victims. This group also commits some of the most heinous crimes. Yes, they are victims but when they commit heinous crimes they must be isolated from society as they can not be cured. Yes, they are victims but society must protect itself from them.
the govt should get out of the marriage sanctioning business in a nation that should be treating all equally under the law.
The twins studies are 30-40yrs old now, two gay gene hoaxes later-folks still holding out for born that way physical science are not being realistic.
