The plan to encourage Israelis to move to Judea and Samaria

Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich recently submitted a decision proposal to transfer millions of shekels to Judea and Samaria to strengthen the region following the recent wave of terror attacks, Channel 12 reported on Thursday.

According to the report, to encourage Israelis to move to Judea and Samaria, Smotrich's proposal includes economic and social components that would make life in the region more attractive. However, diplomatic and security sources who saw the plan's details say it includes components that are beyond civil and are in the diplomatic realm as far as their scope. Among those components: Interior Ministry recognition of sites that are still in the process of recognition regarding grants, building a plan to resettle northern Samaria, demographic expansion of the southern Hebron Hills, Megillot, and Jordan Valley regions, and the evacuation of IDF camps for residences.

One of the plan's architects, Minister of Settlements and National Missions Orit Stock discussed the criticism of the plan and said it would not lead to diplomatic difficulties. She says the residents of Judea and Samaria are not second-class citizens, and just as the government strengthens the Gaza periphery after a security hardship, it should do the same in Judea and Samaria.

US State Department Spokesperson Vedant Patel, during his daily briefing, mentioned the report and condemned the plan. "The expansion of settlements undermines the geographic viability of a two-state solution. It incites tensions, and it further harms trust between the two parties. We strongly oppose...

Sometimes enough is enough.

There are some Arabs who say the same thing.

Right you are!
Demographics maybe destiny. Liberal Jews tend to have fewer children than the orthodox. The last time I was in Jerusalem was Nov. just before Covid hit to see my son and family. I couldn’t believe how many young orthodox families I saw with 5 or 6 little ones in tow and babies in momma’s arms. I also believe increased persecution world wide and here in the US will eventually bring many other Jewish families back to Israel. I don’t know where they will all live. It’s a problem (along with many others) that’s not going to go away. The Time of Jacob’s Trouble looms larger on the horizon everyday. Prayers for Israel and her people!

I know there have been some recent attacks on Christians in Israel that have prompted responses from government officials but this below quote from 2015 is encouraging. With what’s coming on the whole world we’re going to need each other!

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been quoted several times as saying, “Christians are Israel’s best friends.” Likewise in 2015, a group of Orthodox Jewish rabbis in Israel made a groundbreaking public statement, calling Christianity “a part of God’s divine plan” and “a gift to the nations.”

“Both sides need to accept that the land has a mixed Jewish/Arab population…”

Except that is never going to happen. The Jews have been willing to but the Arabs are not. At some point when someone is screaming for your death you have to believe them and take action.

Allowing an entire society of psychopathic murderers to live right next door is just stupid.

The concept of Geographic Viability is destroyed by ignoring it and displacing Palestinians with Israelis

Like the American Indians, the Palis can be resettled on a reservation

Sorry but I am Catholic. Frankly, I do not particularly like the Arabs but they are human and deserve the same rights as the Israelis. To think that the land will some day be free of an Arab population is just wishful thinking and no different from the Arabs who want to see it free of all Jews.

The Jews have been willing to but the Arabs are not.

That is not the experience of the Arabs and the rhetoric expressed in the article just reenforces view that the goal of Israel from the beginning has been to drive the Arabs out.

They can join their Ahwazi brothers in Khuzestan to fight to liberate it from the Iranian occupiers, and instead of fighting over farm lands and rocky hills, they can become co-owners of one of the richest oil fields in the world, stolen from the Ahwazi over a hundred years ago by the usurping Pahlavi Shah.

In Israel there is a substantial minority of Moslem citizens who share all the rights of any other citizens, Israel is not dedicated to extermination of Moslems as Moslems are dedicated to extermination of Jews and other infidels. Israel should have pushed all non citizen Moslems out of Samaria and Judea into Jordan which is populated already by majority of “Palestinians” and should have pushed the Saracens out of Gaza into Sinai in 1967 when they could have. Non citizen Moslems in those areas have schools that teach primarily that all Jews must be killed. So they are culturally equal with and deserve the same consideration as all other violent genocidal groups. They can never live together or be given their own state because that schooling would take several generations to undo and the necessary effort would, of course, be condemned by bleeding hearts who ultimately prefer the Jews to disappear by whatever method necessary to accomplish that end. Their own state would give them a platform to accept Chinese weapony and would facilitate their overarching goal which is absolutely a One Mohammedan State Solution.

The Arabs what to push the Jews into the sea and you want to push the Arabs across the Jordan. How do the two of you differ?

No difference to a bleeding heart liberal. The Arabs want to kill all the Jews. The Israelis want to remove he threat. That is no difference to one who shudders at that thought that a Jew might move in next door.

You are obviously not open to reasoning that conflicts with your view that derives from the MSM. I gave you some pretty comprehensive argument and all you can reply with is moral equivalence between genocidal Palestinians and Jews who kind to survive.

Your “comprehensive” argument conveniently leaves out the reason for the Palestinian Arabs’ rage, treating them as irrational and rabid animals. Israel is at peace with Jordan and Egypt, and the Israeli Arabs are relatively peaceful. Then why the rage among the Palestinian Arabs. While the Israelis and their allies do not want to admit it, the Arabs have been subject to Israeli aggression since the founding of Israel.

In 1947 the Arabs were 2/3 of the population of Palestine. Yet the UN decided to divide the territory and give half of it to the Jews, who represented only 1/3 of the population, without their consent or even negotiations. After the War for Independence this 1/3 of the population ended up with 70% of the land. Then after the Six-Day War they conquered the rest. During the following 50+ years Israel has granted the Arabs in the territories neither citizenship nor independence. They have had to endure military occupation with no rights. And one wonders why they might hate the Israelis.

And before you can make the claim, no, I am not justifying their acts of terrorism. I completely condemn them. But I also condemn Israeli violence against the Arabs that are justified by these acts. Despite their self-image, the Israelis have not been innocent victims in this conflict. Nor is it helpful to try to justify one’s actions by claiming the other side is more guilty. There is blame on both sides. And until both sides can admit it, there will be no resolution.

And finally, the aspiration for the annexation of the territories without the Arab population is unrealistic. It is just not going to happen. To continue to hold out for this only prolongs the conflict, just as an Arab dream of expelling the Jews does. The land has a mixed Jewish and Arab population and it is just a fact that neither one is going away. A resolution of the conflict has to accept this reality, accepting that both populations are legitimate residents and with equal right.
