There Is No Endgame To Continuing To Relitigate the 2020 Election. It’s a Dead End.
Legal Insurrection, All Rights Reserved. ^ | Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at 01:00pm | William A. Jacobson

Posted on 08/16/2023 12:08:49 PM PDT by Behind Liberal Lines

I think he’s in a lot of legal trouble, and I’ve been saying this...for a while and people, you know, attack that. But hey, I live in the real world and the real world is telling us that Donald Trump has a lot of legal problems. He’s probably going to get convicted in one or more of these cases. And people need to wake up and people need to understand what’s happening. And people also need to understand that, while he is not to blame for the hyperpartisan actions of the prosecutors, he left himself very vulnerable. He handed a lot of this stuff to them on a silver platter, and they are now exploiting it. It’s a bad situation.

And now he’s going to roll out, apparently Monday, a new report about Georgia election fraud. I mean, are you kidding me? It’s two and a half years later.

What is the endgame here? Trump supporters don’t seem to understand, what is your endgame? There is no process to decertify an election that took place two and a half years ago. The way you stop this growing totalitarianism is to win the next election, but everything they’re doing is set up to lose the next election. You’ve got to win the next election because Fani Willis and Alvin Bragg and Jack Smith are just the first of a wave of totalitarian attacks using the law enforcement and prosecutorial powers of the state that’s coming our way.

Ok, you want to “stand up for America”.

Good.

What’s your game plan, what does winning look like, and how do you plan to get there?

“ To make this stick, they have to prove that he knew the election wasn’t stolen - that he was lying when he said there was fraud.”

Wrong.

To make this stick, they need to send him to ADX Florence and get the RNC to nominate someone else - which is exactly what they are going to do.

I don’t bother with that blog anymore. The last few years William A. Jacobson has lost the big picture. Anyone who says there is no need to legislate the 2020 election is not facing reality. There is a human bias to believe we live in a just world and that bad results are a consequence of one’s own actions. Evil players leverage that human blind spot to move the ball down the court until it is too late for the Country to successfully resist.
The most essential task we have as Country is to have free, clear & transparent elections. We can see first hand that the lack of fair and transparent elections is destroying the rule of law, and the future of Americans. The cheating of the left leads to corrupt officials at every level whose only interest is their own aggrandizement not the safety & security of their communities.

We can not just move forward and rely on empty promises.

“ or submitted a slate or electors he knew were invalid”

No alternate electors were ever submitted.

He’s a conservative law professor.

And, I do believe the election was stolen. I just want and will work for him to win in 2024.

Let's say that the demoncrap and their filthy RINO butt buddies succeed in jailing trump and he magically epsteins himself in prison (which no-one will be allowed to question). Because the scumbag GOP sat by and did nothing while the deep state/dnc rigged the last election and perfected the steal, and that machine is still in place, and becauses a precedent has been set that you can't challenge the outcome, no matter how blatant the ballot stuffing, douchbags like this Jonah Goldberg ass muncher will be sitting around wondering how their National Review/GOPe approved golden boy didn't even get 65 million votes in 2024, compared to Trumps 76.3 million.

Why don’t you go work for Fati Willis. You seem to think getting Trump put away is going to make a win for the dullard GOPe Meatball.

Mr. Jacobson,

Why will the elections be more honest, this time? Keep this up and there will be **no** next time.

“..prosecutors do not need to necessarily prove that Trump knew he lost the election, only that he knew he was using possibly unlawful means…”

That’s true - if he did something unlawful - but if he did I’m not aware of it - all I’ve heard so far is these BS thought crimes.

This is all political lawfare and everyone on both sides knows it. This is the swamp eliminating a threat to its existence.

The proof is the fact that all politicians do the exact same things that Trump is accused of, but only he is getting indicted for them. Why? Because he’s immensely popular, and he vowed to drain the swamp and return the power to the people.

The swamp doesn’t want to be drained - it’s that simple.

>>> …that President Trump as Chief Law enforcement Officer has the duty to confirm the election was fair and honest! How’s that for a defense! >>>

That is a brilliant point. President Trump didn’t stop being president just because the country was conducting an election. In fact, the time between Election Day and certification no one can presume to know who the winner is until the electoral college makes it official with the votes counted, and a president is sworn in. Until then he was president.

What has been fixed in the last 3 years since Trump was ballot-harvested out of the White House, despite Trump's social posts and all the social posts here on FR? How will Trump's latest report change a single thing?

The only real, positive change in securing elections has come at the state level, by legislatures and governors like DeSantis in Florida. Issuing reports and posting on social media are feel-good exercises which accomplish nothing. None of the courts holding hearings on Trump will even read his latest report. Trump must focus on winning in 2024 - and that means putting together a large, effective ballot-harvesting mechanism right now (since yesterday is already gone).

NOBODY is ignoring it genius! I think whoever our candidate is needs to be concerned, to the exclusion of everything else, with winning the next election. But we are set to discuss 2020? Again? How does that become a winning message in all sincerity? You know that it’s not. Yall are becoming more and more like petulant children ....... (plugs ears) “what, what’d you say? I can’t hear you! Speak louder! What?? The only thing I hear any of yall saying is: (1)Trump has to be our candidate, (2)We will lose the election because of fraud & (3) the country is screwed no matter what. Yall are not a group that seems optimistic about the future. It seems yall more or less want Trump because you sat he’s a fighter. But how is he fighting to win the next election by talking about 2020? There are no answers to anything from yall. Sorry but I’d rather have DeSantis or somebody with a record of electoral success that’s a solid right wing conservative & run him as our candidate than rerun Trump because he identifies with you, strokes your ego, wins your support & loses the election ..... again! 🙄

If Trump is a patriot, he needs to be a martyr to the MAGA movement and throw his support to DeSantis.

Well said! If Trump were doing that, I’d be a far bigger supporter. He needs to think more strategically instead of responding with sound and fury, signifying nothing. Relitigaging 2020 automatically puts you on the defensive & makes you look like an also ran. Focusing on strengthening state election laws would be a discussion about the future & obvious changes are needed! 😉

I’m not denying they can wrongly convict him - they can. No proof is needed to convict in a kangaroo court.

I’m just saying that publicly doubling down on his claims of 2020 election fraud is not stupid - as the article suggests - it is his best defense.

I’m sure we agree on what we want though we may disagree on how to get there. Actually we have accomplished a great deal in these 3 years, the left/GOP-e are panicking and panic engenders mistakes. The American people are aware of the fraud and of the results of leftist policies, where they had slumbered before Donald Trump’s arrival on the political stage. The fiercest battles often presage the turning point.

There is no guarantee of course but in acting so blatantly to destroy Donald Trump they sow the seeds of their own defeat (IMO)

Without exposing what was done, how it was done and who did it we cannot combat the fraud. The path towards election integrity demands knowledge, proof and transparency not hope & change.

The election drew 20 million more votes than the previous record holding national election, 2016. That’s more than Obama winning both times. Sure, that happened because Biden was such a fantastic, charismatic, exciting, persuasive, campaigner.

Biden got 17 million more votes than Obama or Hillary. Trump got 10 million more than he got in 2016. Clearly no fraud.

The fact that there was an All time record high of mail in ballots, without signature verification, and states that mailed ballots to every registered voter whether they ask for the ballot or not, proves that there was no fraud.
