He got the luxury prisons - He could have been sent to the prison in Sinope which has a nice collection of Medieval torture instruments which are shown to various inmates, including the Iron Maiden. No one lasted more than 5 years.

The hill is also famous for the Well of Diogenes of Sinope where he was supposed to have held up his lamp looking for an honest man.
