How bad the climate crisis gets is still up to us. We just have to act
The Los Angeles Times via MSN ^ | August 15, 2023 | by Sammy Roth

As usual, California was ahead of the game.

It's been two decades since lawmakers passed the first law to begin requiring electric utilities to replace fossil fuels with renewable energy. Nearly as long since Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger called for 1 million solar roofs. A decade since the state first mandated large numbers of electric cars on the road, and four years since Berkeley became the first U.S. city to ban gas appliances in new homes.

None of those initiatives have protected the Golden State from the ravages of the climate crisis.

Will Californians be willing to give up cooking with gas? Will they support cutting down on fossil fuel production, even if doing so means higher prices at the pump? Can they learn to embrace a future of more densely populated, less car-centric cities?

And equally important: Will they vote for politicians determined to stand up to one of the world's most powerful industries?

Because at the end of the day, the main barriers to climate action are more political than anything. Studies have shown we have most of the technologies we need to stop burning fossil fuels. The costs of clean energy have fallen dramatically. We know how to redesign our cities — and reshape our patterns of development — to get carbon pollution mostly under control.

The climate crisis is here to stay. How bad it gets is still up to us.

The only realistic road to decarbonization runs through Nuclear Power.

Some solar in the desert southwest. Some wind in the Great Plains wind corridor.

And, that’s all.

One has to wonder if these propagandists are complicit, actually that stupid, or both. They never run stories explaining how their heroes like algore got rich after getting in on the global warming shakedown racket.

One of the major themes in William Gibson's novel The Peripheral is what he calls "the jackpot". A hypothetical confluence of climate change, epidemic disease, and famine which reduces the human population by 90% over a period of a few decades. His future society postulates a very small population of rich criminal families, supported by some startling technology including flesh-and-blood humanoid robots in lieu of a working class.

Our present trajectory is lining us up for a jackpot all right, but not because of global climate change. Oh, no. Ironically it's being forced upon us by the very prophets of climate catastrophism, whose insane anti-energy policies are deliberately crippling western cultures and economies.

But we certainly do have our share and more of criminal oligarchies ready to step in, don't we?

“We just have to act” means flushing a humongous amount money, time and effort down a huge black hole for nothing. Its all about the process.

Believing in man-made climate change is the same as believing in cutting off your genitals.

The only way to solve the climate crisis is to bomb China and India into oblivion. I don’t think that’s gonna happen.

God said He’s going to heat things up and dry up the rivers just before he comes (Revelation, Habakkuk, Isaiah). The soulless elite know this and are getting ahead of the narrative

Ummm, look around latimes moron. Your state is being ravaged as you type, but the fabricated "climate crisis" has nothing to do with it.

If you want to see where this is leading, watch “The Shadow State” by the Epoch Times.

If you noticed the media is pushing this hard right now. I’m hearing it on weather forecasts as well as the news.....seems like its daily now.

There is an endgame, and it is tyranny and control. The brainwashing has been going on for many years, and I believe most people accept it as fact.

We saw during the Covid years how fear makes most people fall in line. Climate change is based on the same thing....fear. Tyrants know how to manipulate the masses via fear.

More laws and dictates are coming to save the planet. Pay attention to the WEF. Climate change is their push. This isn’t going away.

Get informed and start verbally ridiculing this stuff. Note my tag line.

Meh...I read much better fear porn.

On the fear-porn scale this rates much closer to shudder than to shriek.

On a purely porn scale, it's around Dylan Mulvaney.

The only realistic road to decarbonization runs through Nuclear Power.

Your comant is predicated on assuming "decarbonization" is a desirable thing. It is not. The whole climate scare/scam is a hoax.
