I remember he was pretty mad about the film when it came out. I have never watched and I don’t know much about the guys actual life \. Did it make him look bad?
“Did it make him look bad?”
No, but this does.
He never wanted the movie to be made. Everyone in the movie, except an opposing player and the father of that player, was made to look really good in the flick. There was one teacher who seemed like a d-bag at first but eventually came around.
Nick Saban, Philip Fulmer, Lou Holtz, Tommy Tupperville and Ed Orgeron are all in the movie

Oher didn’t like his portrayal of himself. The movie showed him knowing nothing about football when he entered high school when the reality was he was already a star player. But I think the extremely low grade issue was true.
The film made him out to be stupid and all.
He never received any royalties from the film while the family made money.
The film made him look pretty dumb with no real idea how to play football or the importance of defending the quarterback. Later stories explained that he was just used to being twice as big as the other players and never developing strong techniques of blocking. That’s a good way to get knocked on his butt by a defensive lineman almost as big and skilled at what he’s doing when he gets to college.
