Nolte: National Review Executive Editor Attacks Oliver Anthony…. (Rich Men North of Richmond)
Breitbart ^ | 8-14-23 | Nolte

Posted on 08/14/2023 3:41:56 PM PDT by wardaddy

An everyday man comes out of rural Virginia with a folk song empathetic to the working class, and the executive editor of National Review is triggered into attacking him and the song.

This establishment elite is so above it all he dissects “Rich Men North of Richmond” lyric by lyric. Honestly, the best way to read these excerpts is in the voice of Thurston Howell III:

“Yes — it is a damn shame what the world’s gotten to. But we can fix it. We don’t have to just dream about it.Indeed, if we want to, we can fix it on our own even if Washington is standing in our way or looking down its nose at us,” lovey.

I was going to post about that NR column when I got home, glad someone else beat me to it.

More libertarian drivel. Every man for himself. They sold your town and your children’s future?

Get a better job, Learn to code. I’m all right, Jack.

While the nation crumbles.

***********

The National Review better hope we don’t get a huge recession/depression in the near future, because their elitist arrogant economic attitude is a loser politically.

The beauty of economic pain for people that haven’t experienced it, is it becomes a clarifying event in a persons life. If enough people feel it, you get a political system like we had from 1932-1994.

Mark Antonio Wright is the name of the snarky National Review author.

It says “Nolte” in the heading and “John Nolte” in the first post.

A writer in DC or NYC ought to realize that he’s not the intended audience.

Just like William F. Buckley wasn’t the ideal audience for Bob Dylan or Mick Jagger.

Buckley’s son may have been, but he didn’t turn out so good.

Want a real “awakening”... find the lyrics to John Lennon (Beatles) song... “Imagine” . It is in every lyric Communistic from a truly cracked dude... who oddly enough said he voted for Ronald Reagan (perhaps if he had gotten away from the hag Yoko Ono, he might have lived— and not hung out to be shot to death by a schizoid who wanted to impress Jody Foster (known for years as a dyke lesbian— can one imagine). Lennon was getting to that point.”..dump the rich oriental talentless vampire— but too late.

“Imagine there’s no country- it’s easy if you do....etc. and NO religion too.

BTW Steely Dan wrote a derogative song about John Lennon, and it’s here— a song called “Only a FOOL!Would Say That!”

Like Jimmy Kimmel, NR is dead to me.

************

I quit my subscription to NR after the Slick Willie Presidency, they said Clinton was going down and I was a sucker who believed it as a young conservative ideologue.
Which saved me money because during the “war on terror era” they might as well have been named the Weekly Standard.

The last time I checked their comment section, about a year ago, some Trump hating joker wanted Haley/DeSantis 2024.(In that order.)

Mark Antonio Wright is the name of the snarky National Review author.

***************

The guy seems like Kevin D Williamson or Jonah Goldberg type.

Which means if their political advice is followed, the Republicans don’t have much of a future.

If enough people feel it, you get a political system like we had from 1932-1994.

Throw in rampant degeneracy and you will get a system that another people had from 1933-1945.

“Should have closed up shop after Buckley passed away, At least he was funny , intelligent and a Christian.”

True. But it was Bill Buckley himself who handed over his magazine to Rich Lowrey and the rest of that ilk.

Some say that the person who actually made National Review great during its prime was another Buckley, his sister Priscilla.

Priscilla was the managing editor of National Review for many years. And when she retired from her post in 1991 the magazine began its decline.

I’d probably agree. I was a subscriber from 1976 to maybe 1991. I once found it worth reading cover to cover. But in the first Bush years it seemed to become more of a shill for RNC policies than the thoughtful conservative magazine I had once found it. It’s only gotten worse over the years.

The Breitbart article just credits it to NR’s “executive editor”. NR’s online masthead lists their Executive Editor as Mark Antonio Wright.

Most DC ‘elties’ are really the loser kids of real ‘elites’... they’re Hunter Biden types - loser drug addicts, whore-mongers, perverts and worse.

Hunter would be a homeless junkie pooping on the streets rather than living in Mansions if it wasn’t for ‘daddy’... and the ‘elite way’.

That’s how most of the people in power in DC got there... Kolor, Kink and/or Kin ( rich daddy) And they’re mean because they know they didn’t earn the high paying jobs they have... and they hate us for pointing it out.
