A group of about ten self-driving taxis became stuck in the San Francisco neighborhood of North Beach on Friday evening, causing a traffic jam just one day after regulators voted to allow driverless taxi companies virtual free rein in the city.

The rider asked to be taken to the nearest fentanyl dealer and the poor vehicles couldn’t figure out how to visit one thousand destinations in the city simultaneously....

This needs to be tested, and the testing will not be pretty. Driverless vehicles, done right, have the potential to reduce collisions and increase moderate inebriation. As for liability, just pay $200.00 a month to climb in and ride wherever you want. Your pre-planned parking spot awaits.

Riders kept hopping in and swaying “Follow that cab” and they all got confused which one to follow.

Just wait. The homeless in San Francisco have more ‘rights’ than anyone else. The homeless will begin to ‘occupy’ these cars, and wherever the car stops is now ‘home.’ The San Francisco Homeless Industrial Complex will ask for more and more $$$ (not for the homeless, just to keep the Complex going). Soon, instead of RVs parked everywhere, there will develop fields of these cars. When San Francisco placed thousands of homeless in hotels, the Complex actually arranged for alcohol and drugs to be delivered to them at the hotel.
Unless they all go full torch.

Wouldn’t that be a sight to see!? One goes POOF!! and it spreads to all the other driverless EVs gridlocked in the driverless jam. Too bad for the passengers unable to get out.

of course, fascist states like San Fran will eventually have to outlaw ANYTHING and EVERYTHING that might “confuse” so-called self-driving cars, a list that could include hundreds of outlawed things ...
I really want this driverless car thing to be successful, pushing 75 years old as I am. It would be a blessing for some of us. I think it never will succeed, though, sadly.
