Humanly speaking, this system is irredeemably corrupt. The Republican Party is at most only less corrupt then the Democrats. Let's look at an example: Marion County, Kansas. This is a county that voted almost three to one for Trump in 2020. Republicans have carried this County in every presidential election since 1940. Even Barry Goldwater carry the county by 10 points in percentage. No one would mistake the politics of Marion County with those of Seattle or Boston. Yet the sheriff of Marion County staged a raid on a local newspaper on what appears to be hearsay with the use of a warrant obtained from a local judge. If this sort of legal terrorism happens in a place that fits Jason Aldean’s song, “Try That in a Small Town”, you know we are dealing with a system that only fervent prayer can take down.

You're right, and I'm glad that I'm on the tail-end of my life, so I hopefully won't be around when it totally goes down the poop-chute.

I keep telling my friends who think Trump is going to beat the rap because neither the facts nor the law are persuasive are whistling past the graveyard. In the communist enclaves neither the facts nor the law are relevant. There is no justice in communist Amerika. Any Democrat will be acquitted, any Republican will be convicted, regardless of the facts OR the law.
We see this as a contest of ideas and ideology and the communists see this as a transformative war. They want to win more than we do and they are unconstrained by decency, and the electorate is, in the aggregate, as dumb as a box of rocks.
Trump will be convicted and sentenced to prison or at least confinement. What is the GOP/Trump strategy to deal with that outcome?
Yes, the conviction can be overturned by SCOTUS (no chance of that in the DC Circuit that reflects “Judge” Tanya’s POV) or can be erased by a presidential pardon. Counting on Roberts/Kavanagh/Barret in this circumstance is not something about which I would have confidence. Yes, Trump could pardon himself, as could DeSantis, but what if state Secretaries of State (chief elections officials in most states) forbid his name to be on the ballot b/c he is an indicted or convicted person? Sure, that would not withstand judicial review but how long would that take? I’m guessing it would be after the election.

And an appreciable chunk of that 30% appear to be in positions of influence in corporate and government affairs.

I bet these local Republican politicians have been in office forever! Nothing breeds incompetence, corruption and arrogance like multiple terms in office party affiliation is irrelevant. I hate using TV shows as an example but the character in “Boardwalk Empire” is based on Enoch Lewis “Nucky” Johnson. He was a Republican! In those days it was a corrupt Republican machine that ran things in New Jersey, today it’s a corrupt Rat machine. The common thread is multiple terms in office, where the parties settled in like conquering feudal barons.
Term limits at all levels of government!

A few dozen miles north and west of Atlantic City, Philadelphia was run mostly by Republican mayors from 1866 to 1950. They were immensely corrupt, as bad as the Democratic machines in Chicago and New York. Both parties have been corrupt for a very long time.

President Trump said: “I am the only one that can save this nation, because you know they’re not coming after me, they’re coming after you, and I just happen to be standing in their way.”
Pray for President Trump.

We have a looong overdue date with consequences coming.
It's taking a while but it will come.
And they (the persecuted believers in the Tribulation) cried with a loud voice, saying, “How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?” Rev. 6:10
Be sure you have grounded your faith in Jesus before the cataclysms begin. Progressives will be outside His protection.

Sorry....but I don’t trust you.
There is a greater pool of feral animals for Trump’s J6 case than the few conservative patriots in DC who would never be allowed to be on that jury.
THAT was the point of my original post...and even Ray Charles could see it and he’s blind and dead.
