Jonah Goldberg claims ‘small donors’ are a big problem ‘for democracy’

Former National Review columnist and unhinged Never-Trumper Jonah Goldberg recently claimed that small donors in the Republican primary were a problem “for democracy” and are “just venting their spleen” rather than acting strategically.

The pompous neocon told “Inside Politics” host Dana Bash,

“Small donors in Iowa are more important as an indicator of grassroots support than anything else. But I also think we’re dealing with a time where there’s a lot of people, there’s a lot of cheering and self-congratulations about the rise of small donors a decade ago.”

He then added,

“Now small donors are one of the biggest problems for democracy, for the GOP. Because small donors — large donors actually have a strategic view about moderation, who can win, who can’t. Small donors really are just venting their spleen with their credit card, and they lock candidates into positions that can hurt them in the general election.”

Jonah Goldberg just went on CNN and delivered one of the dumbest takes in his long career of dumb political commentary:

"Small donors are actually one of the biggest problems for democracy and the GOP."

Wow. That is an elite, inside-the-beltway view that is certain to be music to the ears of the Uni-party and the countless members of The Swamp/Deep State.

Rather it is big donors, corporate lobbyists, and wealthy individuals such as George Soros that have warped politics, crushed the middle class, driven the growth of (unrepresentative) government, pooh-poohed the Constitution—and assaulted the rights and freedoms of Americans in the 84% of counties in the U.S.—at minimum-- that voted for Trump in the past two presidential elections.

Jonah wants government of, by and for professional affirmative action bureaucrats and educrats, not of, by and for the citizens.

We are a democratic Republic, Jonah.

Not a democracy, per se.

I guess all us little folks can go pound sand and die. Right Jonah RINO?

At least he tells us what they really think. Face it, we really don’t even get to vote because the fix is always in.

I guess voting in the primaries by the little people is a threat to democracy too. Get that out of the way, and the little people’s voting in the general election is just a formality confirming the oligarchs’ choices. Voila, democracy!

Is the goal to win the election or is it something else?

What are we fighting for?

If I shake you awake in the middle of the night and ask you what are you fighting for, after you reach for your gun, what do you tell me?

Our Founding Fathers could answer that question, can we?

Many here can say in GREAT DETAIL what they don’t want. Few know what they want.

“...large donors actually have a strategic view about moderation...”

And there’s the problem. Moderation means perpetually moving leftward. You notice “moderation” never applies to democrats. They can move far, far left (example the homosexual agenda to legalize sex with children) and it is never considered to far from the center.

Jonah Goldberg = Useful idiot

Time to send another $20 to Trump-—I send direct to Mar A Lago-—NOT to a PAC.

The real problem for the deep state:

“Trump’s fundraising....saw a massive surge in contributions to his joint fundraising committee after the FBI searched his Mar-a-Lago property last August”

“the former president’s indictment by a New York grand jury in late March helped revitalize his fundraising”

https://www.politico.com/news/2023/05/28/trump-small-dollar-donor-00099089

I visited Tim Scott’s website. He is even more money hungry than Elizabeth Warren. Tim Scott needs to understand it is best to give information of value before asking for money.

I’m sure GOLDBERG would be happy having only money from SOROS, ZUCKERBERG, BANKMAN-FRIED, FINK, RUBIN, WEINSTEIN, EPSTEIN, STERN, GREENBERG, COHEN, and all those with similar names financing and controlling everything with no one named Anderson, Peterson, Hanson, Johnson, Smith, Wilson, Jolly, etc., allowed.
