Covid cases are on the rise again. Hospitalizations have spiked noticeably since the beginning of July. But doctors say we're far from a place of panic. There's also promising new protection on the horizon as a highly contagious new variant spreads.

As North Texas prepares for the return to school and enjoys the last bit of summer, the CDC is keeping a close watch on those COVID cases. In the first hospitalization spike, we’ve seen this year, just over 8,000 hospital admissions were reported on July 22. That was up 12% compared to the prior week.

The 5 neighbors I have near me, none of which I can see thankfully, have all been vaxxed, boosted and reboosted have all had covid 2 or 3 times. Age range is late 60s to mid 70s.

Wife and I are in our late 60s, never vaxxed, have never been tested, never will be and we’ve been fine.

I did go to the local VA during the height of the scamdemic but they wouldn’t let me inside because I wasn’t vaxxed. They sent a Dr out in the parking lot to see me dressed in scrubs, mask, face shield and gloves. I was in shorts and a t-shirt, no mask. He asked me why I wasn’t vaxxed and wouldn’t take a test. I said not everything is covid. I said I think I have a sinus infection. He looked and said I did... Couple minutes later, gloves were off, face shield up and his mask was down. I said thanks for the prescription.
