DC crime surges as Democrat councilman pleads for National Guard backup

A Washington, D.C., city councilman said it might be time to bring in the National Guard as the city continues to be battered by high crime.

"The crime is out of control and getting worse by the day. We must declare an emergency regarding the crime and violence in our neighborhoods and act urgently. It may be time to call on the National Guard to protect the children and innocent people that are losing their lives to this senselessness," Councilmember Trayon White Sr. said Tuesday at a press conference, WUSA 9 reported.

"I am tired of burying our children. We are too comfortable with the state of our city. We must take action to gain control and protect our residents. Law enforcement is only one part of how we combat public safety issues. It will take all of us to heal our community," he continued.

D.C. recorded at least 13 shooting deaths in the first five days of August, which surpasses the 10 killings recorded in the first five days of July, according to the Washington Post. There have been at least 158 killings so far this year, according to police, which is a roughly 22% increase compared to the same time frame last year.

They’re too busy focusing on persecuting President Trump and his supporters.

These folks “raised” the kids doing the crimes

These folks voted for the “leaders” who won’t prosecute the crimes

Sound slike they need rescuing from their own selves

Maybe that will be the next big thing in all the big crime ridden cities from NYC on down. Permanent martial law instead of what we used to think of as law enforcement.

Take your punishment, Dumb-O-Crat. Or you could see about getting the J6 prisoners released and put the scum in those cells instead.

Before bringing in the Guard, try removing your mayor and changing your Leftist policies and start arresting, trying and locking up criminals instead of coddling them.

I'm not a rocket surgeon, but I think I can detect a problem...

...federal prosecutors in the nation’s capital declined to prosecute 67% of people arrested last year in cases that typically would have been tried in D.C. Superior Court

Mr. Cause, meet Mr. Effect.

Related DC crime news: I just got a news blurb that they know who Hunter Biden’s back of coke belongs to... “someone in the Biden family orbit”...

You let criminals out of jail and are shocked crime went up.

Who bathes, dresses, and feeds these people?

I feel bad for innocent people caught up in that mess. I am sure there is more than one in that category.

However, not sure it is time to send in the Guard; Guard members will be at high risk of getting hurt, killed, or sent to prison for using the wrong pronoun.

Maybe just hold off until martial law is appropriate and then take firm action under new civil and military leadership; preferably someone that has some sense.

As long as kooks are in charge it is hard to see how progress can be made.

It would probably be racist to think they need our help, you know, like assuming they and their elected leaders can’t solve their own problems.

They beg for more responsible people to solve their self created problems. These people tend to be less liberal and more grounded in reality, responsibility and not their racial demographic. IE the very people they hate and consider racist.

I think calling out the DC National Guard would violate the “Posse Comitatus” act. Please correct me if I’m wrong about this.

I suspect the National Guard really isn’t suited to fighting ordinary crime.
