I wish I could contribute to their fiasco but I don’t drink beer.

As much as I hate Anheuser-Busch, they are a multinational global company worth billions and billions of dollars. To think that they had to sell off these brands for a mere 85 million to stay afloat is stupid.

I am amused. The stockholders are not amused. Schadenfreude is sweet.
ps
Schadenfreude is a German word that means taking pleasure at someone else’s pain or discomfort.

Enbev is the internarial, AB is better seen as the American market and they are treated as an independent entity that is required to ma9intian their profitability separate from the international parent company.
Not stupid at all, basic business. AB is struggling, we can only hope eventually this impacts the parent company, though honestly that is unlikely

Prior to Anheuser buying Redhook, you could actually find it outside of the Pacific Northwest. IMHO distribution it seemed to dry up. I remember at the time Anheuser made the acquisition, there were suspicions it was to squelch growing competition from the craft beer market.
The selloff might be a good thing.

This, IMO, is just a taste of what a yuge corporation has gotten when they think they are too big to fail and woke won’t do much damage. They are getting hit like many small businesses have with progressive policies. Just maybe when it begins to hit some of the smaller corporations that push this mess but are the only ones in small towns so we are forced to shop (HEB, Walmart) as there are no others, the heat will be felt and the boards of these companies will return to their original JESUS and USA roots.

To think that they had to sell off these brands for a mere 85 million to stay afloat is stupid. Not to mention their stock, which did drop as a result of the fiasco, from $66/share in April to $56/share today. Still above their 52 week low of $44/share. Yeah, this is just streamlining.

In addition to the beer brands, Anheuser-Busch will also be selling off the brands’ employees... And people thought the Pirates of the Caribbean ride was offensive.

Anheuser Busch’s revenue has taken a hard hit and that makes the price to earnings ratio of their stock price unsustainable, even at its price off $56. A lot of investors who bought on the dip are gonna get burned buying in at what they thought was the low.
Queer Beer sales are not coming back. Here in Wyoming anyone that buys Budweiser products is mocked relentlessly. You might as well be Liz Cheney when you drink that beer here.
