LE MARS — Former President Donald Trump is facing more legal trouble, but his political fortunes continue to shine.
Trump, who was indicted on four criminal charges on Tuesday, has maintained a commanding lead in national and Iowa polls. That goes in this corner of the Hawkeye State, too.
He was the overwhelming choice of Plymouth County Republicans, according to a straw poll held at the county fair. He received 61 percent of votes cast, far more than the seven other candidates listed.
“The results reflect continuing strong support in the area for former President Trump and seem to match what other national polls currently reflect,” according to a release from the county party handed out by Plymouth County Supervisor Don Kass, a former chair of the local Republicans.

Does it? Will it be fair and honest?
Then it’s a wrap. Trump won a county fair poll in Plymouth county. No need for anymore rallys or polls. This is the one. He’s 47 no doubt whatsoever.
It’s just anecdotal evidence of the situation on the ground in Iowa. This fair is the second largest county fair in Iowa and is attended by 50,000 plus people. It is in a republican bastion. Take it for what’s it’s worth but it shows no momentum for Trump detractors.
