Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was mocked online for his "awkward" entrance with his wife, Casey DeSantis at the wedding of Iowa Republican Taylor Collins in Des Moines on Saturday night, with social media users accusing him of stealing attention from the bride and groom.
Videos of the event shared online show the Florida governor entering the wedding reception, held at the Beaux-Arts-style building, with his wife and walking straight into the room after the newlywed couple. Collins and his bride can be seen stepping to the side and clapping for the Republican governor as the audience in attendance cheers. DeSantis stops for a few seconds to wave around, without clapping himself.
Collins, who was elected to Iowa's state House of Representatives last year and took office in January 2023, has endorsed DeSantis for 2024. The Florida governor's attendance at his wedding was reportedly unexpected for Collins, as DeSantis was invited by his wife, Savannah Collins, according to The New York Times.

Social media criticized desantis for imitating Trump's appearance at a wedding that was at Bendminster, and that the desantis' were upstaging the bride and groom.
At this point, desantis probably thinks any attention he gets is good for his campaign considering his events are attended by only a couple of dozen people.

He’s not getting paid, he just likes the 45th President more than the absentee governor of Florida.
Many Trump supporters including myself, don’t need payouts, we’re willing to campaign and work for Trump for free.
It’s because of the lies, mis-representations, and attacks on Trump and his supporters here by you, and other desantis supporters/nevertrumpers,

Careful there. If you pro Trump people keep focusing on RDS’s every move, you might just end up liking him as much as everyone else flocking to Florida. Also, all of the name calling and playground ridicule in the world isn’t going to make RDS drop out. Trump will have to actually work for donor money, and insults won’t get him a dime.
