Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Sunday rejected Donald Trump's claim that he was the true winner of the 2020 presidential election in his most forceful comments to date on the matter.
"Whoever puts their hand on the Bible on Jan. 20 every four years is the winner," DeSantis told NBC News correspondent Dasha Burns
DeSantis continued to discuss all the ways he believed the previous presidential election was not perfect. But pressed further, he clearly stated that Trump lost.
"But respectfully, you did not clearly answer that question," Burns said. "And if you can’t give a 'yes' or 'no' on whether or not he lost —"
"No, of course he lost," DeSantis said, adding, "Joe Biden’s the president."

But doesn't say Trump lost because of election fraud.
Big picture what is wrong with DeSantis campaign. The only target Republicans will sympathize with is BIDEN.
The only hope for a rival to Trump is to bide your time, attack Biden and embrace conservative positions, and hope Trump hurts himself.
Trump is the former president, many feel he was cheated on the election. Joining in with Democrat criticisms isn’t going to work with a republican base.
And there it is handed to MSM on a platter. He didn’t stab Trump in the back he stabbed us all in the back. Ron is dead to me.
That's not the same as having received votes from 81 million (separate) American citizens.
It sounds like he wanted to give a lawyer’s type answer.
I know the liberal meme, is that there were many legal challenges regarding the election, and they claim that all such challenges ruled against Trump.
The truth is that these legal challenges never saw hearings in court, because judges ruled on procedural grounds, that plaintiffs “lacked standing”, or ruled on other legal technicalities, as to why cases could not go forward.
If I recall correctly, one such case appealed directly to the Supreme Court, was turned away because only Alito and Thomas wanted to hear the case. So due to lack of interest by the Supreme Court to get involved, that case was turned away.
Cases being turned away based on procedural grounds, is not the same as a court ruling that there was no fraud or problems in the election. But the liberal meme is that “Trump lost in court” on the election fraud claims. And that is how the media reports on it.
This is an absolute disqualifier. DeSantis is openly siding with those who committed the fraud in 2020.
DeSantis view seems to be that Biden stole it fair and square.
That is like saying that a bank robber of a million dollar heist is now a millionaire.

DeSantis correctly pointed out that the seeds of Trump's defeat were planted in the CARES Act and the disastrous decision to turn the government over to Anthony Fauci.
The presidential election winner is the person who is inaugurated and takes office.

If that's his plan, he's delusional. Trump's base will write-in Trump before they will vote for anyone who says there was no cheating in 2020.
