Physical fitness is a cornerstone of military readiness. Historically, this quality has helped American servicemembers fight and win over numerically superior enemies.
Nevertheless, Congress has rarely taken much interest in a service’s military physical fitness testing — until now.
On Thursday night, the Senate approved its version of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). Section 557 of that bill would scrap the current Army Combat Fitness Test and replace it with the old Army Physical Fitness Test. You’re describing a sane world which is long gone.
Not just the military. To qualify for training at the FBI academy, applicants must demonstrate the ability to do one pushup in an hour. That’s why the FBI looks like noodle-arm soi bois.
Good idea.
Not only physical fitness but also courage. I fear to guess how many of the newer woke crowd if a ‘real’ conflict happens have the courage instilled by their parents/grandparents, schooling to rush the guns or stand their ground when a horde is rushing at them. If school sports is the only vehicle nowadays to instill courage in the youngsters, I don’t see them faring well when the real world smacks them upside the head.
Our Army is crap. Hopefully, we are a little better with the Marines. The Navy is the most important. As long as we secure the world’s seas, we should be all right.
That which has been seen cannot be unseen. For an old Marine, that photograph is absolutely disgusting.
Ditto that. Every Marine is an infantryman and maybe more importantly a RIFLEMAN. Semper Fidelis.
