See, they’re totally kicking Russia’s ass. I mean, they are ANNIHILATING Mother Russia.
Let’s give them more money!!
“Since 1420”
This war has gone on a long time, hasn’t it?
Count on an accurate reading from the Russians. At that rate, Ukraine would be an empty country by now. Why haven’t the Russians just walked to Kiev?
The Six Hundreds Year War
OK, I'll be Sirius. The main reason Napoleon lost, and Hitler lost, was that there were always more Russians willing to die than there were French or Germans, simply on the basis of numbers. This is also why Ukraine cannot win.
The reason we lost in Viet Nam was that we cared about soldiers dying, and the media turned against us. Neither of those are problems in Russia: the government wouldn't mind to lose a million soldiers while Ukraine won't ever have a million soldiers, and the Russian media will never be allowed to turn against Russia regardless of what happens in Ukraine.
How the war ends depends on two things: how much Russia is willing to leave for Ukrainians to call a country, and who gets elected in 2024 to keep arming the Ukrainians.
Maybe we can get some MSM to give us better numbers.
The ones that are the left arm of the state dept.
Because God knows they will tell us the truth.
Yours seems a reasonable analysis, not tinged by "my side" versus whatever. The narrative seems to be slowly shifting, based on war materiel being expended and the like.
For example, "Pentagon says allies will unite to train Ukrainians on F-16s, but warns jets aren't 'magic weapons' " -- In "F-16s won't be a 'magic weapon; for Ukraine, Milley warns" ABC News, May 25, 2023

If those areas already taken by Russia are held, and if Ukraine's economy and demographics continues to deteriorate, it is no longer a matter of "white" versus "black" thinking and cheering, but about how much will a smaller and weaker Ukraine require to continue. Not just an issue for what next US administration comes, but what Europe will do in terms of manpower. "...more Russians willing to die than there were French or Germans..." is quite the issue, especially as France is currently blustering about retaking some power in Africa. Spread too far, your observation about "those willing to die" is most apt.
Those damned Ukrainians.
What the heck? Don’t they know better than to defend their
own homeland?
We called France a bunch of surrender monkeys, but now it’s
in vogue to surrender.
Generations past should have allowed Germany to have Europe.
Who cares if they had that bug blunder bus attack New York
with a year or two later? Fighting back is just wrong!
Japan should have kept major portions of China.
We should have surrendered Hawaii. No big deal.
Damn us for fighting back. How stupid was that?
No it was the rulers who was willing for them to die. The Russian people are notoriously servile. But they are also whipped curs. And when they suffer to much and the leaders lose control they turn on their overlords quickly and that is what is about to happen. Also the Russian winters had a very major impact. This war is not being fought in the Russian cold.
I am not sure who gives the most accurate numbers
Here are your choices:
1. Ukraine on actual human losses of Ukrainian military and mercenaries.
2. Russia on actual Russians killed in Ukraine Invasion, including prisoners and Mercenaries.
3. The Biden regime and economic numbers on Inflation and Jobs.
Which of these is accurate?
Getting closer to the Last Ukrainian Alive!
An interesting argumentation. How would the argument work, when applied to Afghanistan? Or Syria? Or for that matter, Vietnam?
War is abut so much more than repelling invaders (or invading), as the Biden administration through Mayorkas is showing at our massively undefended, open southern border.
Social media posts and obituaries, as former CIA analyst Larry Johnson has pointed out, confirm the catastrophic number of Ukrainian causalities.
Why is it that when a point is made about the Ukraine and
the Ukrainians who wish to defend their homeland, that folks
change the topic anyway they can rather than simply respond
on point? The point was that the Ukraine is only doing what
every nation has done that was invaded, in general terms.
Who is defending what the Biden administration is doing on
our southern border?
Did you get the idea I was? What did it have to do with
the Ukraine? Should the Ukrainians lay down their arms
because of our southern border?
This war started as civil war, one we set off by an illegal coup that we fomented. We installed a puppet government run by Ukrainian nationalists that went on to commit genocide against the ethnic Russian population in Donbass. It's the ethnic Russians that fought back and defend their homeland.
We also used the puppet government as a battering ram against Russia and sought to provoke the proxy war that is now occurring. We fomented an illegal coup, armed, trained and provide lethal weapons to the Ukraine army. We teased NATO membership for Ukraine despite the fact Ukraine pledged to be neutral after the fall of the Soviet Union. We were running biolabs in Ukraine with deadly pathogens in them. If Russia or China were doing anything like that in Mexico, WE WOULD INVADE and justifiably so.
This is where neocon lies come to die.
It is so sad american fighters think they are doing good, when really they are supporting the lawless, Nazi government of Ukraine. Zelensky in the last year has outlawed opposing political parties, and if that wasn’t enough, he stopped elections in Ukraine
Why is it that when a point is made about the Ukraine and
the Ukrainians who wish to defend their homeland, that folks
change the topic anyway they can rather than simply respond
on point? The point was that the Ukraine is only doing what
every nation has done that was invaded, in general terms.
Ironically, some delegitimize the Ukrainian nation exactly as Democrats do to conservatives who want a sovereign US. Intellectual honesty is not the cards there.
And of course Russia didn’t have efforts to prevent what we
did there. Kazan, you guys are always two steps behind on
the playing board. You don’t know that Russia does those
same things, and has for 70-80 years or more?
How about we deal with today for a change, instead of trying
to forget Russia is occupying a nation that is recognized as
having borders Russia has mashed?
The Ukrainian people are the people who decide if they want
to defend their nation or not, not some person from overseas
who thinks he should.
Interesting point, and I think it has merit.
Thank you.
