Four out of every five humans alive experienced at least one day of abnormally hot temperatures in July — a global onslaught of extreme heat that would not have been possible without climate change, according to new research.
The sweltering month appears to have been the hottest month ever recorded on the planet, although official verification from federal meteorological agencies is still pending.
But an analysis of daily temperatures in 4,700 cities found that climate change-attributed heat touched 6.5 billion people — or 81% of the world's population — in July. The report, released Wednesday by nonprofit news organization Climate Central, measured the impact using the Climate Shift Index, a tool that compares the current climate to one without excess heat-trapping emissions.
Global exposure peaked July 10, when 3.5 billion people experienced a Climate Shift Index level of 3 or higher, indicating that human-caused climate change made unusually hot temperatures at least three times more likely, the report said. At least 2 billion people felt a CSI level 3 or higher on each of the 31 days in July.
"There's nothing about this that is normal," said Andrew Pershing, vice president of science at Climate Central, during a press briefing Tuesday.

This is just a wild guess on my part, but I’ll bet climate change-related cold will touch at least that many people this coming winter.
The climate change crisis lies go on and on and on.
Cultist gotta cult.
Great. Now they invented a “Climate Shift Index” or CSI. They will be browbeating everybody with CSI in addition to ESG and other malevolent leftist crap. Get ready for every climate article to harp on CSI.
On a positive note, has anybody else noticed that “CRT” has disappeared from the leftist lexicon? They were losing badly on that TLA and the word must have gone out to cool it. Of course, it didn’t go away. The leftists just rebranded it with a new name that hasn’t surfaced yet.
Climate "change" is the big thing to push now. Gotta keep the sheeple in line.
Isn’t it amazing that 81% of the people on the planet live in the northern hemisphere, and it is summer there?
I pity the poor 19% who had no exposure to the sun last month.
The only responsible thing to do is to buy an electric car.
There were at least two ice ages. What warmed the Earth inbetween? No coal-fired plants, SUVs, or John Kerry private jets back then.
Well, then it is time to start replacing the hot, heat generating solar panel fields with the cool-to-the-touch corn that used to be there.
It’s called weather....not Climate change. It’s the ups and downs of the seasons.....and nothing more.
Fantasy Propaganda
Sunup plus two hours - - - climate change (warming)
Sundown plus two hours - - - climate change (cooling)
...Just about every day
I’m in the Midwest and the day time temps are now and will be in the mid to low 80s. Overnight will be in the mid to upper 60s. At least that’s the 9 to 10 day forecast. Rain now and tomorrow with low chances for the next 9 days. Not bad for August.
Today’s first mandatory climate fear porn.
Brought to you by journalists, a cluster of lowers to whom Pythagorean’s theorem is considered beyond Calculus on Manifolds. (No, journalists, that’s not a thing on a car engine.)
Amazing that they did not mention, and nobody posting in this thread seems aware of, the monstrous underwater volcanic eruption named Tonga which occurred early last year. It lasted for four weeks and increased atmospheric water vapor by 10%. NASA said it would result in warming for at least four years.
The global warming fear mongers are going to make the most of it.
Last time I checked, July is the peak of Summer in the northern hemisphere where most of the population lives.
From what I can tell with these folks, whenever it’s hot, it’s climate, and whenever it’s cold, it’s weather. Or something.
