Poland said on Tuesday it was rushing troops to its eastern border after accusing Belarus, Russia's closest ally, of violating its airspace with military helicopters.
The Belarusian military denied any such violation and accused NATO member Poland, one of Ukraine's most fervent backers in its conflict with Russia, of making up the accusation to justify a buildup of its troops.
Belarus leader Alexander Lukashenko had earlier taunted Poland over the presence of Russian Wagner mercenaries near their joint border.
Poland's Defence Ministry said it was sending "additional forces and resources, including combat helicopters". It said it had informed NATO of the border violation and Belarus' charge d'affaires had been summoned to provide an explanation.

That what you Russkies want, right?
Not going to happen towarisch
Are you willing to be drafted to fight WW 3 armchair warrior? You must be or you would not be cheering on the widening of the conflict. Or do you think that only other Americans will die for your desires?
I am afraid that by joining NATO Poland just went from being the vassal state of one Marxist empire to another Marxist empire. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.
I don’t think that this will end well for Poland.
The Poles and your media masters lie through your teeth.
Yep, any night now, Belarus will attack a Polish radio station just inside the Polish border.
Nah towarisch — let me repeat - neither the Polish people, nor the Polish government want “ a chunk of western ukraine”
Why are you repeating that lie?
So too did Hungary, Slovakia, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and now Finland.
Why would they join this? Because they felt a legitimate threat from Russia - and they were correct
I apologize for the language below, but it shows clearly WHY countries request to join NATO
Like I said, “Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.”
President Trump knew what he was doing when he reactivated V Corps and moved its European headquarters from Germany to Poland.
“Poland is set to become Europe’s military superpower by “firing up a massive amount of heavy metal” creating more armoured divisions than any other continental country, military experts have said.
Warsaw is buying more than 1,000 tanks and 600 artillery pieces that will mean it has more firepower than Britain, France, Germany and Italy combined.
With Russia now regarded as a “profoundly hostile” threat, Warsaw has decided to double the size of its army to 300,000 while spending billions on armour, aircraft, missiles and drones.
It will create six armoured divisions, dwarfing the two each held by France and Germany along with the single UK division.
As its military power grows, Poland will also be able to exert more influence in the political domain, which will have an impact on European politics, experts have said.

Smells like Belarus was airlifting Wagner mercenaries into Poland. If the Wagner scum get caught they should be promptly executed.
I believe that Poland is right to armor itself up because there is nothing better for peace than a strong deterrent.
However if Poland moves its own troops into the Ukraine or Belarus it will trigger a far wider war and invite a strong response from Russia and likely pull in China as an arms supplier - at a minimum and sanctions and trade be damned. There would be no way for the West to block military shipments from China to Russia out without active military action on Russia and China because they share a border. If that happens then WW3 is around the corner and the West has its pants down due to its atrophied industrial base.
Don’t try to make mountains out of molehills, the last thing Russia needs right now is to attack a strong NATO foe.
Poland is sending a strong signal to Russia that it is ready and Putin’s endless bluffs won’t work against it, something that Putin keeps running up against over and over from NATO.
The drama surrounding Gonzalo’s fate takes place against the growing desperation of Ukraine. Ukraine’s attack on Moscow on two consecutive days with drones had zero military benefit for Kiev. One likely motive for this weak effort is the West’s persistent delusional belief that Putin’s domestic support is wilting and that these types of attacks will galvanize hardliners to oust him. I also believe that Ukraine is hoping these attacks will provoke a Russian response that will compel NATO to intervene militarily on behalf of Ukraine.
This is a fool’s errand and underscores the panic that is taking hold in both Kiev and NATO. We learned from the classified documents leaked from Jack Teixeira’s Discord account that a total of 12 Brigades were trained for this offensive. Normally, a brigade consists of 5,000 soldiers. Just do the math. That means a maximum of 60,000 troops. Based on briefings from Russia’s Defense Ministry, Ukraine has suffered at least 30,000 casualties since the start of the counter-offensive on June 4th. If true this means that 50% of Ukraine’s trained counter offensive soldiers have been eliminated from the battlefield. Minister of Defense Shoigu reported today that Ukraine’s casualties for July alone are 20,000. Those are horrific, catastrophic numbers and Ukraine does not have a ready supply of fresh, trained troops to throw into the battle.
That was a very excited post, panicky even, evidently, these small strikes on the capitol are taking their emotional toll.
If Poland puts troops in the Ukraine it risks WW 3.
If Poland puts troops into Ukraine-Russia civil war, that is on them and should have nothing to do with NATO and the US. If anything, classify their actions as aggression and kick them out of NATO.
If that happens be sure and post a thread on it.
